When we talk about some of the greatest Shonen series with a great plotline, we often find ourselves talking about Masashi Kishimoto’sNarutoand its follow-upShippuden. The story features some of the greatest fights that add to the overall narrative and keeps the viewers hooked to the series by cleverly weaving character development that takes them to great heights.
With the series’ progression, the mangaka has featured Earth-shattering battles, comprising of Taijutsu fights or lethal Ninjutsu techniques that can take down their foes in one strike. Perhaps it is right to say that the core tenet of the Shinobi series is decided with monumental battles.
While these fights have added to the allure of the series, there have been some fights that have showcased the most embarrassing defeats that forever go down in anime history. Following are the Top 5 fights, which have resulted in a shameful defeat in the series’ history.
5) Naruto vs. Kiba
Taking place early on in the classic series byMasashi Kishimoto, the fight between Naruto and Kiba started off quite intensely. Both Genin were strong-willed and remembered everything they have done so far and are willing to do to advance to the next round.
To prove his determination, Kiba landed a few strong blows on our protagonist, which allowed him to have the battle in his favor. However, that was until Uzumaki Naruto accidentally farted on Kiba’s face during an attack.

Due to his strong sense of smell, the odor was mortifying for him, and the crowd was in disbelief as they witnessed Naruto progress to the next round. The moment was so humiliating that a fan on Reddit could not stop commenting on how they felt when they saw the scene for the very first time.
While the fight started strong, the comical ending made it so discomfiting, where a fart was enough to take down one of the brightest genin in Konohagakure.
4) Madara vs. The 5 Kages
In all ofNarutoandShippuden,this fight is probably the most memorable because of the narrative weight it holds. When one thinks that the fight between the Five Kages and one Shinobi seems unfair, it is perhaps the opposite way around, when that one Shinobi in question is Madara Uchiha.
The reanimated version of the Ghost of the Uchiha not only displayed the overwhelming power of the Uchihas. The Shinobi was perfected with the Rinnegan and Hashirama’s cells, which made him exceed the strength of five Kages combined. Even a fan pointed out how Madara made a fool of the Kages.
To make the moment more epic, he dropped one of the coldest quotes during the fight, saying, “It’s not unfair. Five-to-one… It’s just the right ratio for playing games.” Only to create five clones of himself per Kage, and to make matters worse, they used Susanoo, beating down every Kage to a pulp.
3) Deidara vs. Sasuke
Another epic fight takes place inShippuden,where Sasuke Uchiha continues his quest to kill his older brother, Itachi Uchiha. While he went on looking for his brother, he got ambushed by Deidara. The two went all-out, where they dug deep into their arsenal to push each other to the corner.
When push came to shove, the Terrorist Bomber played his trump card, where he decided to take down the Last Uchiha with himself with an explosive art. However, Sasuke was extremely cunning, and he reverse summoned himself to escape the area and become the victor of the fight. A fan also commented,
Nevertheless, this fight has to go down as one of the most embarrassing fights in the series, where Deidara got humbled by both Uchiha brothers, reminding him how they are in a league of their own.
2) Killer Bee vs. Sasuke
Another fight that fans can’t forget was how Sasuke thought that he was strong enough to take down Killer Bee of Kumogakure, who was the Eight Tail Jinchuriki. The character was a fan of rap and would be often found singing verses of his own.
When he came face-to-face with the Rogue Ninja from Konohagakure, he gave an epic beatdown to Sasuke, who would have died if his teammates had not intervened.
To add salt to the wound, he wrote a few verses in between the fight reminding him how he doesn’t have to get serious for the Shinobi, who was considered to be a threat.
1) Orochimaru vs. Itachi Uchiha
In all ofNaruto,when we think of a villain that wouldmake our spines tingle with fear, one would say in unison, Orochimaru. He is considered to be one of the greatest Shinobis in the series. To give a gist, he has mastered the five elements and several forbidden ninjutsu techniques as well.
However, when he was a part of the Akatsuki, he realized how inferior he was when he faced Itachi Uchiha, who did not even bother to look at him and gave him the worst defeat of his life.

Later on, in the series, Orochimaru did gain the upper hand because of his research and constantly switching bodies, but the gap between the two, where he was a legendary Sannin, was vast.
