Taylor Sheridan is known for his brilliant work when it comes to writing shows on television. FromYellowstonetoLandman, toWind River, the director/writer has been able to create some of the best work that has shown up on television worldwide, but it seems that there is another part of the artist that fans need to be privy to.

There have been some allegations about Taylor Sheridan, particularly that the director/writer is terrible to work with, which puts a lot of comments that he has made about ancillary staff in productions front and center.

Taylor Sheridan apparently is neither a good human being nor a great writer

Taylor Sheridanhas been responsiblefor some of the greatest shows intelevision history, but it seems that the consensus inside the industry is not that great for the writer/director after all.

While he has delivered some of the best shows on television in recent decades, there have been a lot of reports about how the director has commented on aspects of production and staff that have come off as a little untoward. Walter Chaw, senior film critic at Film Freak Central, in atweet, had some choice things to say about Sheridan:

I know this looks bad, but I know several people who have worked with Taylor and I just wanted to stand up and say that he’s apparently a lot worse – both as a creative and a human being – than a single article could possibly capture, no matter how damning. A real piece of shit.

It seems that the writer has not been the best boss to work for behind the scenes, as it has been alleged that Sheridan is not a big fan of having to share the writer’s credit, believing that the collaborative process can hamper his artistic vision. He said:

If they tell me, ‘You’re going to have to write a check for $540,000 to four people to sit in a room that you never have to meet,’ then that’s between the studio and the guild. But if I have to check in creatively with others for a story I’ve wholly built in my brain, that would probably be the end of me telling TV stories.

There are a lot of things that are yet to be confirmed, given that most of the reports about this issue is based on hearsay and reportage. However, there have been multiple such reports, which either point towards something fishy, or a very well-kept secret of the industry that is now breaking to the surface.

Mo Ryan also took to X to call out Taylor Sheridan

Taylor Sheridan has received a lot of criticism for his comments about various production members and processes, especially from the likes of Mo Ryan, one of the most celebrated critics in the industry. She said:

If you’re a person with even a modicum of power in this industry, let alone a lot of power, & you go out of your way to shit on support staff, publicly or privately, I know ALL I need to know about you! I have no interest in writing abt what you’re making all by yr lonesome!!

Taylor Sheridan

Given the situation that Sheridan may or may not have cultivated behind the scenes, it is no wonder that the likes ofKevin Costner decided to part ways with the showthat he was the star of. However, it is not known whether Sheridan’s behavior, if accurately reported, has contributed to his departure. Sheridan’s behavior behind the scenes and online seems to have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but until he keeps bringing in the dough, there is little the industry can do to rectify his approach to filmmaking.
