The Big Bang Theoryended on a satisfying note with Sheldon (and Amy) not only winning the Nobel Prize but also winning the love of his friends. Of course, theTBBTuniverse didn’t end with it as the story keeps on giving and giving with spinoffs that are just as fun as the OG, if not more. Now, a third spinoff is in the works and Jim Parsons may return as our favorite yet sometimes infuriating Sheldon Cooper.

final episode of The Big Bang Theory (2019)

Back when it was revealed thatTBBTwould be ending, the news caused somewhat of a rift between Jim Parsons and his on-screen best friends, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco who wanted to do another season of the show. While Jim Parsons may or may not return for the spinoff, there is clearly still a wound that needs to be tended to.

Could Jim Parsons Return for a Spinoff?

AfterYoung SheldonandGeorgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, producers ofThe Big Bang Theoryare working on a third spinoff. While the spinoff remains untitled for now, threeTBBTactors have signed on for the show – Brian Posehn, Kevin Sussman, and Lauren Lapkus. These actors played the roles of geologist Bert Kibbler, Stuart, and his girlfriend Denise, respectively.

In the words of Parsons,“I would never say never to anything, because life just changes so much.”Of course, this isn’t a definite answer on whether or not we will see more of Sheldon Cooper, but hey, it’s a start at least.

However, a source told the publication that Parsons hassaved up enoughmoney that he can say no to any project coming his way that doesn’t inspire him. They added that the actor only chooses scripts and roles that inspire him and Sheldon may not fall in that category anymore.

Jim does what inspired him now. I don’t know that playing Sheldon, which he did for so long, brings the same inspiration anymore. Then again, if they backed up the Brinks truck for him, it might be hard for him to say no!

Do you think Parsons will finally turn back to the character that started it all? And would the rest of the main cast return to their respective roles for the spinoff?

How Jim Parsons Upset Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki

Back inTBBTdays, Parsons was over Sheldon and wanted to walk away from the character. This decision of his caused the producers to announce that season twelve would be the last season of the beloved show.

Continuing the show without the glue that held everything together was not a choice forChuck Lorreand Steven Molaro. Thus, one day they sat down with the series’ cast and Parsons revealed that he would be leaving the show, bringingTBBTto its grand finale.

There was a lot of crying in the room. Kaley, in particular. It was a blow. And there was no way to soften it by giving them a heads-up. I didn’t know any other way to do it.

Kaley Cuocoreportedly felt blindsided by it all and producer Steve Hollandrevealedin the book that she could“barely make eye contact with Jim during the run-through.”He also added that “there were a lot of hard feelings between Parsons, and [Johnny] Galecki and Cuoco.”Well, maybe the third spinoff could ease some of the old tension between them.
