Christopher Columbus Is Working On Gremlins 3

Thanks toDeadline’s reportingabout the Warner Brother’s shake-up, we now know that Gremlins 3 is in the works, and thatChristopher Columbus is working on a treatment for it. That doesn’t mean he’ll write the movie, but it is the most positive sign we have yet that Gremlins 3 could actually happen.

Columbus first wrote Gremlins as aspec script to break into Hollywood. He was inspired by mice that kept him up at night in his loft:

“But at night, what sounded like a platoon of mice would come out and to hear them skittering around in the blackness was really creepy.”

Eventually, the script wound up in the hands of Steven Spielberg, and the rest is history. Here’s to hoping that history repeats itself over 35 years later!
