Since Sumeru is the land of Dendro, a lot of puzzles and quests can be solved usingthe Dendro Element. We are going to review all the Tri-Lakshana Creatures in Sumeru and how you’re able to activate and use them to obtain items and solve puzzles.
How To Use Tri-Lakshana Creatures
Every Tri-Lakshana Creature has three different states that it can be in. These states include:
When a creature is in aScorched State, it has been affected by Pyro, often becoming unusable or weak. In theActivated State, the creature has been affected by Electro, which will usually make it stronger or more useful. The Normal State of a creature is usually just the state you find it in, or you may take a Scorched creature andrevive it with Dendroto return it to its Normal State.

Bouncy Mushrooms
In the image above, you will see a Bouncy Mushroom, which can be used to catapult your character up to high places. The Mushroom stays in its Normal Stateuntil it is affected by any outside Elements.
This is the Bouncy Mushroom’s Scorched State. You can reach this state byusing Pyro on it.This will essentially render the Bouncy Mushroom unusable, and you will need to use Dendro on it to return it to its Normal State.

This is the Bouncy Mushroom’s Activated State. You can reach this state by usingthe Electro Elementon it. This is especially beneficial for getting to higher places andgrabbing Dendroculi that are too high up to reach when the Bouncy Mushroom is in its Normal State.
Dream Flowers
The image above depicts a Dream Flower in its Normal State. you may find these in Phantasmal Gate quests, which can be activated using your Vintage Lyre, found in the ‘Gadget’ section of your backpack. In this state, the Dream Flower willremove enemy Aggravation, which is the system used to alert enemies of your presence.
In the Dream Flower’s Scorched State using Pyro, it will be practically useless andwill get rid of the Aggravation-clearing status. You can revive it to its Normal State using Dendro.

In the Dream Flower’s Activated State using Electro, you will be able to see the remaining Phantasmal Seeds as they will be marked by a large beacon of light. This will help you complete the Phantasmal Gate quest faster.
Poisonous Mushrooms
Poisonous Mushrooms are purple-colored mushrooms that blow up when you pass them. They can deal True Dendro DMG in their Normal State to both enemies and your character when it is approached. These are often used to solve puzzles to open chests by either triggering them in their Normal State or bringing them to their Activated State with Electro.
When you use Pyro to bring Poisonous Mushrooms to their Scorched State, they no longer attack. You can do this to avoid getting hit by Dendro DMG.

Using Electro will bring the Poisonous Mushrooms to their Activated State. This will deal True Dendro DoT, or Damage Over Time, and will continue to hit your character or enemies until it returns to its Normal State, where it will go back to dealing True Dendro DMG.

Seed Mirrors
Seed Mirrors can be found at the top of buildings and can be used to find nascent Withering Zones when in their Normal State. You can just walk up to it and choose ‘Activate,‘and you will be able to see around the whole area to find Withering Zones.
In their Scorched State using Pyro, the Seed Mirror becomes unusable. You can reactivate it by using Dendro.
When Seed Mirrors are in their Activated State, you will receive a notification on-screen telling you thatan Aranara is hiding nearby, and you can track his trail using the Seed Mirror. If you do not spot the Aranara in time, they will leave, and the Seed Mirror will return to its Normal State.
Starshrooms
When you find a Starshroom in the wild, it will be in its Normal State. You can pick this up and use it as Recovery Food, which will recover 300 HP for the character it is used on.
When the Starshroom is in its Scorched State after using Pyro,it will only heal 1 HP if you pick it up.You can return it to its Normal State using Dendro.
When the Starshroom is in its Activated State after using Electro, it will give an added increase to Recovery and800 HP to the character it is used on.It is best to pick them up when they are in this state, as they will be the most effective.
Tri-Yana Seeds
Tri-Yana Seeds are the floating seeds that you will find near Torch Puzzles. In their Normal State, they will move around in a fixed path. This is how you will normally find them in the wild.
When they are affected by Pyro and go into their Scorched State, they will completely stop moving. You can return them to their Normal State using Dendro.
When they are affected by Electro and go into their Activated State, they will pause for a few seconds in that location and be able to show hidden objects. You should use the Activated State when they are nearby to a hidden Torch Puzzle, and once they are Activated, the Torch will appear. You will then be able to light up all the Torches and complete the Torch Puzzle.

Dendro Piles
Dendro Piles are large rocks that are covered in branches that you’re able to find all around Sumeru. They start in their Scorched State, where they are laid down on the ground and withered.
When you bring the Dendro Pile to its Normal State using Dendro,it will unravel and reveal hidden objects, ranging from Dendroculi to enemies.Once you apply Dendro to the Dendro Pile, it will stay in its Normal State until you use Pyro or Electro on it.
When you bring the Dendro Pile to its Activated State using Electro,it will climb even higher than its Normal State. This state does not have much more of an advantage than its Normal State, except that it might be easier to reach what is hidden underneath. It will only stay in its Activated State for a few seconds before returning to its Normal State.
Fungi are the many different floating enemies you will find around Sumeru. In their Normal State, they will attack you as they normally would, with no effect on their abilities.
When you use Pyro on Fungi, they will go into a Scorched State, which meansthey will become slower, but their damage will be higher. If you are using a slower character to fight them, this can be a good state to put them into.
When you use Electro on Fungi, they will go into an Activated State, which will make their attacks significantly faster. You should avoid this state if possible, as it might be harder to hit them.
