Skongposting has infiltrated the upper echelons of Gamescom due to the highly-plausible presence ofHollow Knight: Silksong. And like any good eldritch being, its worshipers must wear the cult’s uniform.

Users on the Silksong subreddit, at first, didn’tbelieve that this was real. Which is kind of sad, people should learn to hope for things more.
For those not in the loop: Hollow Knight Silksong is allegedly a game that reportedly exists. Ever since its announcement in 2019, people have been hoping. Waiting. For six years.
The lack of real information has caused people to… let’s say “dig” (thechocolate cake incidentis a good example of this) - and those that dug too deep found something in the depths. They returned with rainbow hair and big red noses.
Silksong fans wear the clown uniform with pride. We’ve gone past wearing it ironically to make fun of people hoping for Silksong. Now, they’re embracing the meme by acknowledging that hope is futile, but hoping anyway.
And that hope is futile, after all. There’s no way all these Gamescom teases will actually lead to a Hollow Knight: Silksong reveal, right?

Technically, Silksong hasn’t been revealed yet. But we’re less than a day out from the opening live show and well, evidence has manifested.
There’s gonna be ademo.Company boothshave Silksong promos everywhere. “Gamescom has Silksong!” - or so they want you to think.
The suits atNintendoandMicrosoftand Team Cherry all want you to think that Silksong is coming tomorrow. But that would be insane, right? After all, Silksong has never been tomorrow. I’m not crazy. I’m no clown. It’s a conspiracy!
There’s no way all these companies would actually have Silksong. They have to be co-ordinating the biggest silkpost of all time. All these dollars and all these people and a tweet here and an announcement there and…
…take off the clown nose. Silksong tomorrow.
