Although gender norms are constantly being broken in today’s world, 20 years ago, two fictional figures basically raised boys and girls. The Barbie doll and Batman as a superhero single-handedly inspired an entire generation, becoming symbols of morality and hope. Where the superhero helped shape boys into young men who fought for what they believed to be good, the doll helped young girls realize that the only limit that they had to worry about was their imagination.

Considering how iconic these two figures have been for decades, it is not surprising that they have had their paths cross every now and then. However, the most recent instance of their intertwined lives is quite interesting.
Barbie x Batman?
Barbiedolls have seen their fair share of crossovers since the release of the very first girl in plastic. From all countries to all professions, and almost every celebrity, everyone has had some part of themselves be represented in a doll in the least creepy way possible.
Batmanhas also seen more than his fair share of doll faces. Being one of the most popular action figures of all time, having unique add-ons ranging from a Batmobile to a Robin, it is not surprising that he has the same level of success and love as Barbie. While the pair have had their names at the top of the game for decades, they seem to be finally joining them for something epic.

It was recently announced by theofficial accountfor the doll that the pair would be getting crossover dolls. With their models being released on September 18th, it is safe to say that many fans are surprised at the news.
A Pink Batman?
Although Barbie and Batman are two of the most popular names in the world, audiences seemed to be completely unaware of the crossover that the two icons are getting. However, as soon as the news hit the right areas of the internet, fans were quick toweighin on their thoughts on the matter.
Even though both figures are quite iconic, they are very different from each other. Where one fights crime, the other does everything, but in pink. With this in mind, many were making jokes about how the Bat would be retiring from his duties as Gotham’s Kight to deal with his closet. Others started to wonder about the kind of dolls that would be coming out with their collab.

Considering the fact that Margot Robbie has played the doll herself and has also played one of the Bat’s villains, Harley Quinn, some wondered if a doll dedicated to the actress would be a part of the collection. Some wondered if the collection would turn Ken into a Batman, with or without a pink suit.
