Forza Motorsport, the latest installment in Xbox’s renowned racing simulator series, has had a rocky start since its release. Despite its promising features and improvements, the game has faced significant criticism and disappointment from fans.

However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon that might just reignite the passion for this beloved franchise.
A New “Horizon” for Forza Motorsport
Turn 10 Studios has recently announced a substantial update forForza Motorsport, which will begin rolling out next month. This update promises to bring several key features that fans have been clamoring for, including one that seems so basic yet has been conspicuously absent: Spectate Mode.
Just announced, massive updates are coming to Forza Motorsport in 2024:• Spectate mode• Drift mode• Creative Hub and Share Codes• New tracks: Sunset Peninsula and Bathurst• A new way to get reward cars via the Challenge Hub• Reward Cars also unlock able via…pic.twitter.com/uAmhGKTmlR

The inclusion of Spectate Mode is particularly noteworthy because it’s a feature that many fans feel should have beenpart of the game from the very beginning. It’s a seemingly brainless omission that has left players scratching their heads, wondering why such a fundamental aspect of racing games was overlooked.

One of the most exciting additions alongside Spectate Mode is the return of Bathurst, a track that has been a fan favorite since past iterations ofForza Motorsport. This track, along with Sunset Peninsula, promises to bring back the thrill and challenge that fans have come to expect from the series.
Too Little, Too Late?
Despite the upcoming updates, many fans are left wondering if it’s a little too late. Forza Motorsport currently sits with a “Mostly Negative” score on Steam, reflecting the widespread dissatisfaction among players.

The game’s launch was marred by a multitude of bugs, a poorly received progression system, and a general lack of content compared to previous games in the series. These issues have led to significant frustration and pessimism among fans:
100%They had zero idea of what the players even wanted.Should of been a sim game. No need for two arcade forzas. Forza horizon should be for casuals. Forza MOTORSPORT should be sim.Still blows my mind they were selling this as a built from the ground up game. Madness.

However, there’s still a silver lining. Despite the current state of the game, fans are finding reasons to be optimistic about the future. The upcoming updates, particularly the addition of most requested features and tracks, could be a big step in the right direction:
This is a big step in the right direction! I hope they do a “re-launch” at some point with a large expansion addition

AsForza Motorsportcontinues to evolve, it’s clear thatTurn 10is listening to community feedback and working hard to address the issues that have plagued the game.
Whether these updates will be enough to salvage the game’s reputation remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: there’s still hope for this racing simulator to reclaim its place among the best.
