Fortnitev17.30 Update
The latestFortniteupdate, v17.30, launched on August 3rd after some lengthy server downtime. But, the servers are now back up and players can jump back in to see what’s new.
Players will notice various map changes around theFortniteBattle Royale island. The most prominent change being that Slurpy Swamp has been abducted by the aliens and is floating in the sky, broken into separate quadrants. Epic Games have informed players that “abducting a whole POI isnât something that happens overnight”, so fans will want to check back in throughout the week.
A new Limited Time Mode, Team Brawl, is also available in v17.30 but won’t go live until August 5 at 9AM ET. The new mode gives players a new loadout each time they spawn and pits two teams against each other to see which one can reach 60 eliminations first. The matches take place at a single POI with non-player buildings being stronger than usual.
Finally, the icing on the cake forFortnitev17.30 is the brand new Grab-itron IO weapon.
New Grab-itron IO Tech Weapon
This new alien weapon can be used to pull in objects that are in front of you. Pull in an object with its flying disc, take it along with you, then launch it at an opponent. How much damage it deals depends on how big it is, what itâs made of, and its launch speed.
The Grab-itron can also be used as a defensive weapon, when holding an object with the new alien gun, it will block damage coming from in front of you. But there is only a certain amount of endurance it can take before the object breaks.
It can also be used to catch incoming explosives such as grenades. Catch an incoming explosive and send it right back to your opponent.
In terms of stats, they aren’t as detailed as normal weapons as the Grab-itron does not fire standard ammunition rounds. However, this is what we do know:
