WhileEpic Gamescontinues to tease the arrival ofFortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, players are already ruminating over the game’s current season, with some even going as far as labelling it as “the worst season ever.”

Released on March 8th, Season 2 was themed around ‘Myths and Mortals’, bringing Greek Gods such as Zeus and Hades to Fortnite’s ever-evolving battlefield. The season once again made some monumental changes to the Fortnite island, with some brand-new “legendary” locations such as Mount Olympus, which is the home of Zeus, and The Underworld, the home of Hades.

Fortnite Fans Debate Whether Or Not Avatar’s Toph Skin Is “Lore” Accurate

While this is Fortnite’s first genuinely blind NPC, fans don’t think it’s as accurate as it should be.

But one of the most controversial features to be added in Season 2 was a handful of new mythical and elemental weapons. The Thunderbolt of Zeus allowed players to hurl lightning bolts at your enemies, but if that wasn’t controversial enough, Epic Games would later go on to add new elemental weapons as part of anew collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Four new elemental weapons were added to the game with the update: waterbending, earthbending, firebending, and airbending. These new elements came after the inclusion of waterbending in Chapter 5 Season 1, which would then return in Season 2 with three other elements.

Fortnite Players Are Blasting Chapter 5 Season 2 As The Worst Season Ever

Despite being an epic season based around mythological Greek Gods, Fortnite players simply feel like the season didn’t live up to expectations set by Epic Games. Over on X (formerly Twitter),one user saidthey would sum the season up with one word, “disappointing.” They went on to explain how the season “had so much potential” but failed to truly capitalise on the Greek mythology theme.

They further explained that none of the new points of interest on the map “feel special,” whilst the new mythical weapons weren’t even present for “a pretty big chunk of the season.”

Other users, such as Alex, said, “If someone told me back in 2020 that a Greek Mythology season would be one of the worst seasons ever I’d think you’re insane.” WhileX user OzYeennoted that the build-up for the season was “crazy” only for the actual thing to be “mid.”

Whether you loved Season 2 or not, Epic Games is gearing up to release Season 3 in less than 24 hours. With a new Fallout collaboration already confirmed by Epic, things are shaping up for another massive season of the popular Battle Royale.
