Having established themselves as some of the biggest action stars in the industry for over two decades, there’s much more to these individuals than what meets the public eye. Cruise and Reeves are men of many talents. In fact, Reaves (60) made his debut in a sport that many fear taking up.
Keanu Reeves makes his professional motorsport debut
Surely, most of us know thatKeanu Reeveshas a few special talents outside of acting, most notably playing the bass guitar. The Canadian actor famously plays the instrument for a three-piece alternative rock/grunge band called Dogstar, which started in 1991.
While Dogstar has been doing relatively well, Reeves recently decided to take up a new hobby (or career path?) in car racing. TheSpeedactor was recently spotted in a red Toyota car, No.92 BRZRKR, soaring through the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway (viaThe Guardian).

During the race, Reeves suddenly spun out while exiting the ninth turn on the track, but he brushed off the mini mishap like a pro, signaled that he was uninjured, and continued driving.

This wasn’t the only incident that could’ve potentially taken out the Hollywood veteran from the race. During the initial lap of the race, Reeves avoided a crash on the fourteenth turn.

This event wasn’t Reeves’ debut in the sport, as he participated in the Toyota Grand Prix back in 2009, where he managed to complete that race as well. Having done all this, he probably just made Tom Cruise extremely jealous. Let’s find out why.
Can Tom Cruise drive a race car?
Well, yes,Tom Cruiseis a daredevil who likes to do adventurous things, including racing on a motorsport track. In fact, his passion for car racing inspired him to write and act in a cult classic calledDays of Thunder(1990). His film was also nominated for an Oscar.
According toHow Stuff Works, the 62-year-old actor is a terrible driver. Things were so out of hand when he got behind the steering wheel that other drivers around him nicknamed the action star “See Cruise Crash.” TheTop Gun: Maverickstar’s driving instructors claimed he was too aggressive behind the wheel, which can be a major risk for someone who isn’t professionally competing in the sport to earn a living.

It was stated that Cruise believes his inability to drive probably stems from his struggles with Dyslexia, which is a mental disability that affects the brain’s ability to process written language. As much as it probably tore him apart, Cruise had no choice but to admire the sport as a fan.
But for someone as talented as him, Cruise needn’t worry about how the world would view him if he can’t drive a car properly. Some consider this man a jack of all trades.
