It looks likeFinal Fantasy Pixel Remastergames from FFI through FFVI are heading to PS4 and Switch after being exclusive to Steam for one and a half years, as spotted by Reddit userCefaluuvia screenshots that showcase platform ratings on the ESRB website. Although none of these ratings include ‘Pixel Remaster’ in their description, they match the one available on Steam.

The fact that the classic 2D pixel series has been rated for PlayStation 4 and Switch suggests that an official announcement from Square Enix could be on the way. Final Fantasy will be celebrating its 35th anniversary with special live streams starting today and ending on December 18th, with new titles such as Final Fantasy 16, Chocobo GP, and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin being part of the celebrations. The Final Fantasy Pixel series port for PS4 and Switch will most likely be revealed during the annual event.

The aggregator posted screenshots from the ESRB website, revealing that PS4 and Switch have been added to the listings for FFI through FFVI. As also spotted by Twitter userWario64, the Pixel Remaster games, including all six games in the series, have been apparently rated for two platforms. Each rating has its own content descriptor, noting what players can encounter in the game. For example, the content description for FFI includes mild suggestive themes, while the others point to alcohol references and fantasy violence.

Players can take these listings with a pinch of salt, given Square Enix has not confirmed the PS4 and Switch ports yet. The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series includes upgraded versions of the original games, offering completely new graphics and audio. The 2D RPG series has released on mobile and PC via Steam in July 2021, allowing players to control characters from Final Fantasy games as part of different stories.
