Wait, Is This A Mobile Port Of Final Fantasy 14 Or Something New?
All of the information available in the launch trailer and on the game’s official website presents Final Fantasy 14 Mobile as something new and not a port.
The game uses the same setting, content, story, jobs, minigames and races as the base game, but the controls and some gameplay aspects have been altered for the mobile experience.

Only thing is, the extent of these changes is unclear. Final Fantasy 14 is a UI and button heavy game, which would be difficult to recreate on a mobile device, so changes will have to be made.
“FFXIV MOBILE inherits the relaxed and welcoming community aspects of the original game, allowing you to enjoy social interactions the way you want.”

What has been revealed is that it will havenine jobs at launch, along with the armoury system. There are also 11 crafting and gathering classes for players to use.
Final Fantasy 14’s Latest Update Is Finally Addressing The ‘Dark Skin’ Issue
Finally, I can darken my character’s skin tone and actually see them in Photo Mode.
Theminigames will include fishing, chocobo racing, and Triple Triad, with the Gold Saucer present as a location players can visit.
In terms of story, the website mentions battling the Primals, suggesting it will only cover the events of A Realm Reborn. If the game is successful, then it will likely adapt the stories of the later expansions over time.
A mobile iteration of Final Fantasy 14 isn’t surprising, considering the incredible popularity of the base game. The only question is whether the gameplay and story will find an audience among handheld players, especially in such a stackedmobile gaming market.
