Silent Hill fans will have more to look forward to than a new game in the franchise releasing this year, as the Silent Hill 2 movie now has a release date.
Titled “Return to Silent Hill,” the movie will once again be helmed by Christophe Gans, the same director who directed the first Silent Hill movie that was released almost 20 years ago in 2006.

Return to Silent Hill Releases In The First Month Of 2026
Return to Silent Hill is now confirmed to be hitting theaters on July 24, 2025 (viaEurogamer).
The video above was released two years ago, and so far, it’s the only media we have for the movie. That should change in the coming months though.

The movie’s plot reads, “When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of his lost love, James finds a once-recognizable town and encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity.”
WithSilent Hill f releasing on September 25, Return to Silent Hill due for release in January 2026, and Bloober Team confirmed to bedeveloping a remake of the first Silent Hill, franchise fans have a lot to look forward to. As someone who absolutely loved the Silent Hill 2 remake, I’m all for it. The only thing connected to the franchise left in the dark is No Code’s Silent Hill Townfall, which hasn’t gotten a development update for a long time.

If you’ve yet to play the Silent Hill 2 remake, you might want to remedy that as soon as possible. This is easily one of the best horror remakes, and is right up there with what Capcom has done with their Resident Evil remakes.
