Although the game specifies to use the Black Rock Neutralizer against them, it’s hard to find where they’re located in your initial run. So join me as I explainhow you’re able to find these rocks to neutralize anomalies in FBC: Firebreak.
How To Find Anomalies
Anomalies in Firebreak can be summoned during gameplay as long as you have the Corruption modifier active for any of the jobs.These generally comprise the possessed Altered Items we once saw in Control, such as the Rubber Ducks or a Mailbox.
To toggle the Corruption modifier,you’ll first need to successfully complete the specific job on the level 3 Clearance,the current length cap for jobs in FBC: Firebreak. Once you’ve done that, you can attempt that job again with the Corruption options enabled.
Depending on how many you enable, you may spawn a total of three Altered Items in the job’s three main zones, but your team will need to prioritize taking them out of the equation first, as they’ll continuously buff the enemies or add special conditions such as slowing you down via freeze.

How To Find & Use The Black Rock Neutralizer
To neutralize these corrupted anomalies, you’ll need to get your hands on the Black Rock Neutralizer in FBC: Firebreak. This is a unique utility weapon that can only be found during jobs.
Although the game actively points out its existence when you first come across these corrupt anomalies,what it doesn’t tell you is where you may actually find these things.Don’t worry, we don’t blame you if you can’t find them either at first.
Alternatively, you may also use the Black Rock AmmoResearch Perkwhich makes your weapon ammo have a chance to use Black Rock Neutralizer rounds.
You can find the Black Rock Neutralizer at ammo stations and safe rooms.With the former, it’s important to remember that this weapon will be situated on the side wall panels of the ammo station itself, as shown in the image above.
However, there’s also a rare chance of finding them in safe rooms as they’ll be lying on the floor to pick up,but it’s better to find them at ammo stations instead,since that’ll be an easier way than going out of your way to find them there.
To use the Black Rock Neutralizer against anomalies, dish out a short, sustained fire on the target corrupted item to get rid of them. The weapon doesn’t have a lot of ammo, so make sure to use it efficiently when given the chance.
Once you’ve eradicated the corrupted item, make sure to pick up the rare resource samples that they drop. You’ll also automatically drop the launcher when switching weapons, so be sure to make a mental note of where you drop it to possibly use it againlater in the job.
