FBC: Firebreak has a lot of items stashed around the various Jobsites, but one of the most important is Research Samples. These will help you to improve your perks to higher levels, making them even better in the long run.
Research Samples work similarly to Lost Assets, although they won’t spawn in the same locations very often. Also, you won’t find as many Research Samples as you wouldLost Assetson any given Job.

Top 10 Classic Shooters You Need To Play
Becoming a classic shooter connoisseur isn’t easy, but we’ll help you get there. Here’s the top 10 Classic Shooters you absolutely need to play.
This guide will let you knowwhich missions give specific Research Samples in FBC: Firebreak, alongside some helpful tips on finding and keeping track of them.

You won’t be needing these until you start unlocked Corruption modifiers. So, if you’re just starting, try not to focus too much on them.
What Are Research Samples?
Research Samples are essentially another in-game currencythat you’ll need if you’re looking to level up your perks from weak to strong to resonant. As you get to higher difficulties with Corruption, you’re going to want to have as many of these as possible.
Each sample glows a different color, but you won’t find more than one type per Jobsite. You’ll need to have at least one level of Corruption on if you’re hoping to find any Research Samples at a Jobsite.

For each Corruption level you have, you’ll find more and more Research Samples. Still, you’ll need to weigh your options since it doesn’t matter how many Research Samples you grab if you fail to finish the Job and extract.
10 Co-op Sequels That Improve On The Original
Sequels can be disappointing and even unnecessary, but these best co-op sequels prove that sometimes they can be even better than the original.
Where To Find Research Samples?
Each Research Samples belongs to a different Jobsite, so you will only find a single type of samples per Job that you do. That means you’ll need to run specific Jobs based on which ones you’re after.
The table below should provide you with an understanding of which Jobs link to what Research Samples. Each one is also a unique color, so if you happen to forget the name, you can remember them by the color they glow.

Research Samples
Resonant Globs
Frequency Shift
Achromatic Sand
Ground Control
Light Blue
Viscous Strips
Paper Chase
Whispering Ash
Numbed Splinters
Freezer Duty
Research Samples can be found scattered around each zone, muchlike ammo, where Corrupted Items have been activated. This means if you start a run with less than three Corrupted Items, you’ll only be able to find Research Samples in the ones that spawned a Corrupted Item.
Corrupted Items will drop a bunch of Research Samples when you destroy them, as will Powerful Enemies at higher difficulties.

Pretty much,if you’re looking to find some specific Research Samples, you should go to the Job and put it on maximum corruption. You can also technically farm them by staying on Jobs long enough that Powerful Enemies spawn, but I don’t recommend that.
Since they spawn with random waves, there isn’t a guarantee that you’ll see them often enough to make it worthwhile, although on higher difficulties like Extreme, this can be significantly increased.
Again, I wouldn’t recommend cranking it up to Extreme until you have a loadout of level three weapons or some amazing teamwork.
Most often, you’ll find Research Samples stacked on top of Lost Assets. They sort of clip together, and you may pick up one or the other, so make sure you grab everything there just to be safe.
There’s a lot of chaos in thisco-op shooter, but once you’ve gotten some levels under your belt and a whole lot of Research Samples in your vault, you’ll be set for anything.
FBC: Firebreakis certainly a time investment, but once you understand how it all works, it gets a bit easier to plan out each Job.
