Activision released a new trailer today officiallyannouncing the returnofVerdanskto Call of Duty: Warzone later this month onApril 3rd, 2025.
The Fan-Favorite Map Was Announced With An Accompanying Nostalgia-Toned Trailer
The beloved map returns as a part of Activision’s plan to celebrate thefive-year anniversaryof Call of Duty: Warzone.
Verdansk was the first map released for the mega-franchise’s firstBattle Royaletitle, and thus became iconic in its own right as it was, at the time, one of Call of Duty’s biggest maps, one where dedicated fans spent hundreds of hours onuntil its eventual replacementwith 2021’sCalderamap which had a notably different World War II theme.

Every subsequent year, another map has replaced the previous, with Caldera’s replacement being 2022’sAl Mazramap, andUrzkistanreplacing it in 2023.
Verdansk saw a smaller return to the spotlight in 2024 asit was the main map featuredin 2024’s Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile game for iOS and Android.

So Far, It Is Not Clear If There Will Be Any Changes To The Fan-Favorite Map
With the map’s announcement billed as a teaser, Activision has yet to officially reveal what, if any, changes will be coming to the map for its anniversary revival.
The launch of Call of Duty: Warzone in 2020 was fortunate, as the global Covid-19 pandemic saw increased rates of people playing video games, leading many to form fond memories of the virtual spaces in which they socialized during lock-downs or when working from home.

A year of Verdansk led to the map becoming easily cemented in many Call of Duty players' memories, and its return during Call of Duty: Warzone’s fifth anniversary is sure to bring back many players to the game.
Seemingly aware of this, the teaser trailer announcement is dripping in nostalgic imagery as well as a very appropriate choice of song.

It is not yet known for how long Activision will be bringing Verdansk back for, but players will be able to drop into the nostalgic battleground onApril 3rd, 2025.
