Although you can playDying Light 2in co-op mode entirely, the crossplay feature between platforms will not be available at launch.

BeforeFortnitemade crossplay possible between all major gaming platforms, it was almost like a dream for gamers to play an online game with their friends from another console.

Dying Light 2

That being said, crossplay has become widely available over the last few years and most of the developers try to bring it to the community at launch, which is a win for both players and developers.

Dying Light 2 Will Skip Crossplay at Launch

According to a recent press release from Techland,Dying Light 2will not feature crossplay between platforms at launch. Even the cross-generation-play will not be available for consoles of the same family.

That being said,Steamand Epic Games Store users on PC will be able to play co-op mode together.

This is bad news for players who would like to enjoy the co-op, especially now that the development team at Techland has confirmed you’re able to play the entire game, including the ending, in the co-op mode.

Hopefully, crossplay is already in the studio’s post-launch plans. So, you could probably be able to play it with friends from other platforms someday after launch.

Multiplayer and Co-Op Modes Will Be Prominent In Game

Like the original game,Dying Light 2will have a fully-fledged multiplayer mode. According to the aforementioned press release, Techland said:

The original game was at its chaotic best when playing with friends so it’s great to see that this will return forDying Light 2.

Dying Light 2will be available on July 20, 2025, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The game will support free next-gen upgrades on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

It’s worth noting that the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been delayed indefinitely.
