Shadow of the Erdtreeintroduces a range of different enemy types with unique movesets. Out of these, some have extremely varied attacks, and Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, happens to be one of them. Her reflexes almost resemble Malenia from the base game, but there’s hope for those who know what they’re up against.

Her attacks can be devastating if you don’t know what you’re doing. But if you’re someone who has playedDark Souls 3, the character design can hint at some ways you can easily make it through this fight without breaking a sweat.
It’s Time to Remember Pontiff Sulyvahn
The strikingsimilarities between Pontiff Sylvahn fromDark Souls 3and Rellanain the expansion are uncanny. Both of them wield two swords at the same time, and both are weak to one kind of attack strategy that players in the game can use: parrying.
Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree Completely Changes What We Knew About Miquella and His Scarlet Rot Connection
The entire fight against Rellana is filled with a mixed bag of different attack types. First, she may do simple slashes with her swords, but as the battle progresses, you’ll be going against spells and fire/ice attacks.
However, every time she tries to do her normal attacks, you can parry her combos with something like Buckler Parry. Or, any trusted shield that supports your weapon type. This was a common“cheese”many players used inDark Souls 3when going against the unforgiving Pontiff Sulyvahn.

Rellana’s Moveset Makes Her One of the Most Difficult Bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree
Players may have thought enemies like Malenia and Radahn were the toughest bosses inElden Ring.Well, with the new expansion, it seems like Rellana is quickly becoming the topic of conversation when it comes to the game’s most challenging fights.

Other than her two blades, there’s a unique attack where she creates twomoonsthat do massive area-of-effect damage and can be incredibly tricky to dodge. Furthermore, her spellcasting can often feel unpredictable, making her moveset quite hard to get a hang of.
It’s recommended that you face her once your character is at level 150. Anything less, and you’ll likely find yourself stuck at Castle Ensis, unable to progress through the DLC. For this, it’s best to go back to the base game and farm some runes, or explore the earlier areas of the Shadow Realm.

Before beginning the fight, summoning the two NPCs right outside the entrance can help you with your playstyle, as it gives you ample time to land some strikes while the NPCs distract Rellana. Summoning a Mimic Tear halfway through the battle can also help with this.
What are your thoughts on parrying Rellana’s attacks? Have you defeated her yet? Let us know in the comments below.
