Elden Ringplayers who want to make progress towards being a sorcerer, probably don’t want to miss the Thops quest, which ends up acquiring some medium-level stuff from the character!
Despite the main storyline, the world ofElden Ringis filled with different side quests, some of which end up in incredible loots.
For those who are building their character around sorcery and magic, probably followingSellen’s questlineis a top priority as it will reward you with a top-tier armor set in the end.
However, if you are not experienced enough to complete Sellen’s tough missions, you might be able to go after Thops questline, which is still a worthy mission for those with medium-level characters.
Where to Find Thops in Elden Ring and How to Start His Quest
Thops is located inside the Church of Irith on the northwest of Stormveil Castle. If you have already defeated Godrick, the Grafted, then you can easily teleport the Liurnia Lakes Shore Site of Grace and head back towards the Stormveil Castle. After passing the guards' camp, you will go through a small passage and then the Church of Irith is in front of you.
If you haven’t beat Godrick yet, then you should take a tricky path from Limgrave to the Church of Irith. The image below showcases both paths to the church.
Inside the Church, you will spot an NPC who is Thops. Talk to him a few times, and ask him about the Glintstone Key. He will ask you to spare him a Glintstone Key so that he can get back to the academy again.
There are two Glintsone Keys in the game. The first one is located behind a dragon on an island on the west side of the Raya Lucaria Academy. you may’t spare that one as you should use it to enter the academy yourself.
Once you are inside the Academy, you should first defeat Red Wolf of Radagon, the first campaign boss inside the academy. After that, you can get the second Glintsone Key which is located at the top of a chandelier.

Once you get the key, return to the Church of Irith and give it to Thops. After that, you may fast travel to the Schoolhouse Site of Grace inside the Academy. Exit from the backdoor to the garden and on the right side of the door outside you will see a corpse seated on a chair in front of a desk. Pick up the items left by the corpse, which includes all Thops' stuff.
