Although some may think that The Greater Will alone oversees the Lands Between inElden Ring, many other unseen forces and entities are at play, many of which remain invisible to the naked eye. Some of these even play a major part in our journey as a tarnished to becoming an Elden Lord.The Frenzied Flame ending ofElden Ring, where the player obtains the flame through the three fingers, proves that there is involvement of more than just one god in the game. Many players are hoping that we will get to know more about them in the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
While the number of Outer Gods that exist in the universe ofElden Ringremains unknown, there are a few names that the fans have managed to gather from the description and hints given in the game.
1Gloam-Eyed Queen OfElden Ring
The Gloam-Eyed Queen remains one of the biggest mysteries of theElden Ring. The entity is mentioned in a lot of item descriptions, and despite her being mentioned as an empyrean, players believe that the Gloam-Eyed Queen is an outer god herself. The most famous theory states that Melina is the vessel of the outer god, as she matches the description given of the entity.
2The Blood Star
The Blood Star is another entity that remains hidden in mystery. Most of the information about this speculated outer god is retrieved from the Aberrant Sorceries. The item descriptions state how the Blood Star had its eyes gouged out by thorns, which is similar to the style of sorcery mentioned before.
3The Fell God
The origins of The Fell God remain unclear, however, it is known that the entity was associated with the Fire Giant as well as the Fire Incantations. 4Unnamed God of the Twinbird
The Twinbird Kite Shield reveals how the Twinbird is the vessel and messenger of an unknown outer god, and is the mother of all the Deathrite birds found in the Lands Between. There is also a possible connection between the Twinbird and thePrince of Death, as hinted by the ghostflame weapon, Helphen’s Steeple.
5The Formless Mother
The existence of The Formless Mother as an outer god is confirmed by Mohg’s Backstory. The item description of Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear suggests how the outer god was associated with the demigod, giving him and his followers access to blood incantation.
6Sealed God of the Scarlet Rot
The god of the Scarlet Rot follows the order of decay and birth and is sealed away at the lake of rot by a blind swordsman with a flowing sword. It is revealed that the same swordsman is the mentor ofMalenia, who was afflicted with the curse of Scarlet Rot from birth. Malenia’s ascension to the Goddess of Rot hints towards the pattern of people receiving godhood while being associated with an outer god, as observed with Queen Marika and The Greater Will.
