One week after debating whichElden Ringcharacter is the biggest “Chad,” the game’s dedicated Reddit fanbase has tackled another pressing matter: which character is the “MOST PRECIOUS in the lands between!”
The conversation, started on Saturday by Reddit user Cirlo93, began with a collage of multiple characters from 2022’s multi-timeGame of the Yearwinner, and a query of which among them had dug their way deepest into the heats of the fanbase. The candidates included such entries as Miriel, Pastor of Vows — lovingly known throughout the community as The Turtle Pope, for obvious reasons — and adorable snake lady Rya, as well as Irina, Latenna, Smithing Master Hewg, and Spirit Jellyfish Ashes. But it was one character who was omitted from the photo collage that got more love than anyone else.
“WHY ISN’T BOC HERE”, the top comment, from user roguekeychain, states, to which the originator of the thread replied, seemingly in a state of shock, “oh god i forgot boc!” That would beBoc the Seamster, the cowardly demihuman you save from being turned into a tree and who just needs a little positive reinforcement of his own beauty.

And indeed, the overwhelming support for Boc was flowing on Saturday. Said user Through_Night of the seamster’s omission from the collage, “Boc was already selected as Most Beautiful so he didn’t want to take away anymore opportunities for others to feel the joy of winning,” while x_Blackwine chimed in “Boc would, damn it. He would also make everyone some really nice clothes for the award ceremony too.” User JakUchiha proclaimed their love for Bok was so strong that after inadvertantly sending him to his death in their first playthough, they “Completely made a new character to correct my mistakes.”
While the love that was poured out for Boc went on and on, commenters had a wide variety of other favorite cozy characters, though few had enough consistent support to stand out. The one who appears to have come in a very distant but distinct second place as Rya, whose wholesomeness and naivety seems to have endeared her to players. “Giving the tarnished the woe talisman is such a funny moment,” user PeacefulOnion stated, “she’s so innocent that she thinks she’s helping when she’s pretty much a golden retriever happily giving his owner a live hand grenade.
Also making a strong showing among the community was the aptly namedJar-Bairn, the living jarfrom Jarburg, known for adorablytalking in his sleep. “Not many games out there where man-eating pot children who dream of murder are this cute and lovable,” commented user BlueUnkonwn. “I like to imagine that he met Zoraya in his post-game travels, and they became best friends.”
