Great Hammers are one of the heaviest weapons a person can use inElden Ring. These weapons offer a decent range and can often hit multiple close-together enemies at once. Many great hammers come with incredibly high base damage, with some of the best bringing unique skills to further their lethality.

Because of their weight, many of these weapons have very high strength requirements to wield. While there are a few exceptions here and there, great hammers excel and will do the most damage with strength-focused builds; here are the best ones to choose from.
10Battle Hammer
TheBattle Hammeris a straightforward heavy weapon, dealing large amounts of strike damage to your enemies. This weapon requires 26 strength and 8 dexterity to wield, scaling most from your strength stat. While this is a decent weapon, it can be difficult to obtain as it is obtained through an enemy drop.
This weapon comes with the skill Braggart’s Roar and cannot be infused with other ashes of war. This skill boosts the player’s attack, defense, and stamina recovery. As bigger weapons require a lot of stamina to swing, this great buff pairs nicely with this weapon.

9Brick Hammer
TheBrick Hammercan also be a little straightforward, simply dealing a lot of strike damage but having higher requirements to match the increase. This weapon requires 31 strength to wield with no other requirements, making this weapon perfect for that leveling strength and little else.
This weapon comes with the skill Barbaric Roar, which increases the player’s overall attack. While this buff is not as much as Braggart’s Roar, the Brick Hammer scales more off strength and has higher base damage, leaving this weapon to deal higher total damage than the Battle Hammer.

8Rotten Battle Hammer
Rotten Battle Hammeris a stronger version of the regular Battle Hammer but adds additional scarlet rot build-up status on enemies. This weapon requires 26 strength and 8 dexterity to wield, scaling most from the player’s strength.
This weapon comes with the skill Braggart’s Roar and can be infused with other ashes of war. With this skill, the hammer alone will do a large amount of damage, with each hit having a high build-up of scarlet rot. While this weapon has a slower attack, it can be a bit more difficult to cause scarlet rot but will cause great damage when successful.

7Celebrant’s Skull
Much like other Celebrant’s weapons,Celebrant’s Skullgreat hammer deals a high amount of damage and gives players runes for each successful attack. This weapon requires 18 strength and 12 dexterity to wield and scales equally from strength and dexterity. This weapon has some of the lower requirements to wield for a great hammer.
This weapon comes with the skill Barbaric Roar, which offers a decent boost to damage. This weapon has high base damage despite its lower requirements, and with the additional runes is a great early-game hammer. With this weapon’s slower attack speed, each hit offers 20 runes for each hit.

6Great Horn Hammer
This weapon offers a significant amount of base damage and also heals the player for each attack. This weapon requires 22 strength and 10 dexterity to wield, scaling most from your strength. This weapon offers a decent amount of damage, but its additional bonus greatly makes up for the deficit.
This weapon comes with the skill Barbaric Roar, which offers a decent boost in damage for a short time. This weapon can also be infused with other ashes of war. Despite being a great hammer, each attack only offers a small amount of health back but is always a welcome bonus in long-drawn-out boss fights.

5Devourer’s Scepter
Devourer’s Sceptermay not deal as much damage as other great hammers, with a unique skill that can hurt many enemies and heal the user. This weapon requires 24 strength, 20 dexterity, and 25 faith to wield, scaling equally from players' strength, dexterity, and faith.

This weapon comes with the unique skill: Devourer Of Worlds and cannot be infused with other ashes of war. While this skill sounds awesome, it has the flash to back it up, but not as much damage. This skill affects a wide range and deals fire damage and stealing HP, but the total damage can be a little underwhelming despite the name.
4Envoy’s Long Horn
Envoy’s Long Horndeals high amounts of physical and holy damage, with a ranged option that can shred larger enemies. This weapon requires 23 strength, 11 dexterity, and 18 faith to wield, scaling most from players' faith. This weapon excels in faith builds, with its high damage regular attacks and special skill.
This weapon comes with the skill Bubble Shower and cannot be infused with other ashes of war. This skill fires off many bubbles that act and deal damage independently. Should the enemy be big enough for all bubbles to hit them, this skill can deal incredible amounts of damage.
3Cranial Vessel Candlestand
The Cranial Vessel Candlestanddeals a significant amount of both physical and fire damage. This weapon requires 26 faith, 8 dexterity, and 22 faith to wield, scaling most from the player’s strength and faith.Cranial Vessel Candlestandweapon deals an equal amount of physical and fire damage, allowing it to be a great option for strength or faith build.
This weapon comes with the unique skill Surge Of Faith and cannot be infused with other ashes of war. This ability is a great AOE fire attack that deals large amounts of damage. This can be useful in offering the player an additional spell option as long as their build allows them to wield this weapon.
2Beastclaw Greathammer
Beastclaw Greathammeroffers a decent amount of damage but also has a skill that mimics one of the better incantations in the game. This weapon requires 20 strength, 10 dexterity, and 18 faith to wield. This weapon does both physical and holy damage, scaling most from players' strength and dexterity.
This weapon comes with the unique skill Regal Beastclaw and cannot be infused with other ashes of war. This skill sees massive claws tear the ground in front of the player, each dealing a great amount of damage independently. While each claw does its damage, hitting a larger enemy with multiple will deal massive damage.
1Great Stars
Great Starsdeals one of the highest amounts of damage among the great hammers while offering life steal and an additional bleed effect on your enemies. This weapon requires 22 strength and 12 dexterity to wield, scaling most from the player’s strength.
This weapon comes with the skill Endure and can be infused with other ashes of war. Many different ashes of war can be infused to make this weapon excellent, as its true greatness comes from its basic attacks. Its high bleed stats require only a few hits to inflict the ailment, while each hit also very minimally restores lost HP,making it an incredible weapon to use.
