The Norse undertones inOne Piece’sElbaf Island arc are recognizable even to the most amateur enthusiast. The striking similarities to the Vikings sets up a fun-filled arc that would test the Straw Hat Pirates as they approach the final treasure once and for all. In most cases, it is usual for Luffy to take front and center, overshadowing every other character because of his enigmatic presence.

In this process, it is likely for other characters to not get their chance to shine, especially the Straw Hat Pirates. Characters like Usopp, Frankie, and others need their moment of glory as well and if not in the ongoing arc then where else? To make things even more on theme, there are 9 other members of the team and 9 perfect ways to give them attention.

One Piece Could Let Other Characters Shine

In most cases, Luffy, since he is the protagonist ofOne Piece, gets the most screen time and presence. Eiichiro Oda does not shy away from giving him time to shine and also puts him on a pedestal whether it is about transformations or epic fight sequences. As proposed in theory by@elchapo789on OP Fanpage, Elbaf Island’s Viking theme could come in handy.

The Vikings are avid followers of Norse mythology and one of the most prominent of it is Yggdrasil. It is the Tree of Life and it encompasses nine different worlds. From Midgard and Asgard to Niflheim and Alfheim, each of them has its own population and life. On exactly that theme, Usopp’s dream of becoming a formidable warrior could be completed. Vikings are warriors and it is just the perfect opportunity for him to grow even more.

For each of these worlds, there could be a corresponding Straw Hat Pirate to go through them. It could test them to their full extent and especially give Usopp his well-deserved upgrade. Moreover, it would put Luffy in the background for a brief period.

The 9 Trials of 9 Worlds

There are nine different realms in the Tree of Life and each of them has a completely different world within. They all have different ecosystems and different rules and regulations. Yet they all reside within the branches of Yggdrasil. Keeping it on the theme,Eiichiro Odacould make every realm a representative challenge for the Straw Hat Pirates and give them a path to the glory that they truly deserve.

For Franky, Niðavellir or Svartálfaheimr could become a challenge ground. It is the land of the dwarves. Their mastery of forgery and craftsmanship makes them incredible weapon masters. Usopp could take on the challenge of the realm of Asgard because of how he sees himself as a God.

Muspelheim is the only place one could think of for Sanji. The land of fire is the perfect colosseum for a person who is so familiar with the power of pyro. Robin has always been the wiser of the lot and because of that, Vanaheim, of which little is known, could test her own wit. There is no better training ground for Brooks than the realm of souls, Hel itself.

Jötunheimr, or the land of the Giants and Frost Giants could put Chopper’s Monster Point to the test. Nami could use Niflheim’s icy and misty environment to her advantage and improve her own mastery of the weather. Jinbei could shine in Alfheim within the land of Elves and Zoro could get the push he needs in the lands of Midgard.
