I’ve already had some thrilling expeditions in the deep desert; my experience so far has been smooth and exciting, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
When it comes to farming spice, you can do it by yourself and have plenty of success, or you can recruit your friends and assemble the best spice farming squad the dunes have ever seen. I recently took part in what could possibly bethe most professional spice farming operation yet.Multiple guilds worked in unison to transport vehicles and resources, secure the spice bloom with overwhelming numbers, and successfully bring home over 10,000 spice dust.

Guilds Coordinate Flawless Spice Farming Operations
After meeting some incredible Dune players, Saigo and Boss, I decided to join their guild and pledge my allegiance to theAtreides faction. A couple of days later, I was casually working on the layout of my base when I got the call to action:“You up for some spice farming in the deep desert?”.
This deep desert farming expedition consisted of players from three separate guilds, utilizing six ornithopters and a sandcrawler to form a formidable and efficient farming team, and it was an impressive display from start to finish.
Preparing For The Journey
One of the best things about Dune: Awakening is that it’s genuinely a challengingsurvival game, and the deep desert is no exception. Here are the main things you need to do to prepare yourself for the deep desert:
It was time for Boss, Saigo, and me to gear up and head to the edge of the deep desert to rendezvous with the other guilds before taking off.
How To Farm Spice In The Deep Desert
Even though Saigo and Boss are high-level Dune veterans who have mastered the art of spice farming, even Boss admitted,“We’ve never farmed spice quite like this before.“Our massive fleet of ornithopters took to the sky on a hunt for spice, and before long, a massive spice bloom erupted—target acquired.
As we approached the spice crater, we noticed a solo player collecting spice with a static compactor. The sight of our fleet of ornithopters approaching would surely frighten any solo player, but our guild was more than happy to share the spice.
To get the biggest spice yields you can possibly get, you’ll need to use Dune: Awakening’s dynamic vehicles to their full potential. Here’s what vehicles you’ll need to harvest spice in large quantities in the deep desert:
Once we got into position, our carrier ornithopter pilot dropped our sandcrawler, and the spice began to flow. Multiple solo players approached our location but quickly turned around after seeing six ornithopters buzzing overhead. With such a large group, I was pretty certain we wouldn’t face any PvP this time around, but other players weren’t the only threat we had to think about.
The Deep Desert Is A Dangerous Place
Any expedition into the deep desert will require you to be alert and ready to make split-second decisions to stay alive. Our sandcrawler had completed two full laps of the spice field when suddenly the sand vibration meter abruptly turned red.
“Get your camera ready,” Boss said.
Within seconds, the entire spice field had disappeared into the mouth of an enormous sandworm. In order to avoid having your precious vehicles destroyed, be attentive while you’re harvesting, and make sure your carrier pilot stays close to the sandcrawler and is ready to pick it up at a moment’s notice to get it out of harm’s way.
As usual, smaller sandworms are also on the prowl, and as you can see in the picture above, my fellow guild members may, or may not, have been antagonizing them slightly, but we managed to fill our storage with spice and start the journey back to base.
Rollin' In The Spice
After an exhilarating deep desert experience, we made it back to our rendezvous base on the shield wall, and it was the moment we’d all been waiting for -splitting up the spice. In total, we collected 10,000 spice sand, which we turned into 150 spice melange using a medium refinery.
