Grinding XP and getting levels are major factors in many ARPGs, and they keep us coming back for that sweet final dungeon of the night. This is no different inDragonkin: The Banished, but an extra twist makes the process even more satisfying.
Those who want to get stronger and progress through the game will need to level up not only their main character but also the Wyrmling that accompanies them.

Dragonkin The Banished: How To Beat Jailanung
If you’re struggling with Jailanung in Dragonking: The Banished, this guide will cover everything that you need to know.
There are two separate level-up barsthat you can follow to track your XP progress, adding another layer to the customization and overall strength that you can achieve.

This guide will go over the level brackets of both you and your Wyrmling, and how these levels impact your gameplay.
Investing Points
Before you get into actually allocating your skill points, it might be worthchecking what kind of skill trees, or rather skill columns, that are available.
Right from the get-go you’ll notice that both you and your Wyrmling have4 different columnsthrough which you may insert or withdraw points.Remember you don’t need to pay anything to change your decision, so feel free to try out different combinations.

Use the Refund All button located at the top of the page to expedite this process and make alterations as seamlessly as possible.
Every time you hit a specific point bracket, for example, 10 points or 25 points allocated to one of the columns, you will unlock a new set of passives.

With this in mind, you have a couple of options. You can either spread your points out thinly, allocating sets of points into each column to unlock as many passives as possible, or invest all of your points into 1 column and specialize in a specific playstyle.
In my opinion, I reckon it’s better to unlock as many passives as possible, as the bonuses you get after hitting the point threshold aren’t that substantial, until you get to very high levels.

Of course, while they might not seem very much, when you add up all the small stats boosts, the numbers can become pretty crazy over time.
Character Skill Tree
Here are your options for the Barbarian, which is one of the more effective classes, as well as some of the useful passives you can unlock:
Description
Useful Passives
+Max HP and Life Drain. This is going to allow you to be able to tank more hits and stay in the fight longer by draining your enemies' health.
Brick Wall, Unbroken Rage, Elimination Tactics
+Thorn Damage and Armour. These stats allow you to become a real tank. You won’t have to worry too much about dealing as much damage with abilities when enemies take a bunch of thorn damage.
Good Communicator, Draconic Shroud, Quick Thinking
Resilliance
+Max HP and Attack. This is a bit of a mixed bag. This tree will give you a lot of bonuses to your maximum HP and your attack, so you’ll be tanky and strong.
Lifeforce, Tank, Divine Intervention
+Armour and Attack. This final tree increases your maneuverability, allowing you to dash around and up your attack speed to mow down enemies as quickly as possible.
Treasure Hunter, Duelist, Sudden Rush
To quickly see all the changes you have made in your skill tree, check the stats page, which will show every modifier that is currently affecting your character.
Investing Wyrmling Points
As you might have gathered, this process can be replicated to level up your Wyrmling, further increasing the power you wield, and giving you more room to customize your experience.
Likewise, points can be invested and deducted for free, meaning you won’t need to worry about your decision, orhoard money to change your mind.
Remember there are 4 different Wyrmlings to choose from, and each has its own tree.
ensure you pick a Wyrmling that synergizes with the choices you have made with your character tree. For example, if you have invested heavily in Courage with the Barbarian, you will probably want to grab the Fire Wyrmling that works with the Fire Damage passive that you unlock at 45 points.
Each Wyrmling benefits each character tree differently, so you will want to choose the one that better fits your playstyle.
Remember to check your attribute points every time you gain a new level. Hitting that new threshold can give you the upper hand when facing a new area or the next boss fight.
Wyrmling Skill Tree
Like with the different characters, Wyrmlings have the same four attributes, but they affect stats differently.
For instance, the Ice Wyrmling may gain an increase in effect duration, where a Fire Wyrmling gains Area Multiplier.
Here is the skill tree for the electric Wyrmling, and some useful passives that are unlocked:
+Electric Damage and Physical Resistance
Inspiration: Security, Permanent Shroud, Chaos
+Wyrmling Cooldown Reduction and Wyrmling Damage
Inspiration: Ranged Attacks, Protective Balance, Control
+Electric Damage and Wyrmling Damage
Energy, Grueling Strike, Survival
+Physical Resistance and Wyrmlking Chance multiplier
Inspiration: Damage Taken, Grand Inspiration, Healing
Each Wyrmling will start off at level 1,but they can be changed by returning to the Jailer that resides in Montescail City. While certain Wyrmlings may benefit different characters in their own unique way, there are no wrong choices here.
Simply test out each Wyrmling and see which works best for your playstyle. Then you can alter your character trees to see which attributes work the best with your choice.
Ancestral Grid
As you gain more levels, more of the Ancestral Grid is going to open up to you. At the beginning, you’ll be rather confined, having to pick and choose which Hex fragments you use, but this will swiftly change.
Increasing the difficulty level may make the game harder, but you will unlock more types of gear and earn XP faster! This can be changed at any time in Montescail City.
As you unlock more of the Grid, you will be able to unlock Symbiosison more of your abilities by surrounding them with more beneficial support pieces.
Symbiosis is going to transform your previous abilities, making them far stronger, and increasing your stats in addition.
Don’t feel worried about taking all the pieces out of the grid and trying to rearrange them in a more beneficial way.Different combinations can radically alter your build quality.
Once you hit level 50, which may take a while, you will unlock the final slots on the Ancestral Grid, and the maximum level of customisation will be available to you.
