Dragon Ballhas an incredible roster of characters for the fans to watch and enjoy as the show takes them through some of the flashiest battles in anime. Among these are Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan! One thing they all have in common is that they have some of the most screen time in the anime, along with some of the best battles in the anime!

Old-school Dragon Ball used to feature multiple characters battling it out against a common enemy, and even power scaling was pretty even among friendly characters like Krillin and Goku. Unfortunately, as Dragon Ball carried on, many characters were torn away from the screen and barely offered anything to the fans.

Krillin has been in Dragon Ball Z and Super throughout its entirety, but what many fans may not know is that Krillin was actually one of the main characters way back in the original Dragon Ball! Dragon Ball featured a young Goku being an extremely close friend to Krillin.

The two of them were great fighters, and together they trained under Master Roshi. Nowadays, Krillin rarely gets any respectable screen time, and many fans would enjoy seeing the bald Z Fighter battling it out on his lonesome at some point.

Tien is another character that was introduced into the Dragon Ball franchise way back in Dragon Ball’s first anime show. In fact, Tien was one ofGoku’s fiercest rivalsat one point. Tien is a great fighter who spends a lot of time training.

This training led him to actually defeat Dragon Ball’s main protagonist, who has reached into the realm of the gods in a martial arts tournament! Unfortunately, Tien hasn’t seen much light at all in the new shows of Dragon Ball. It would be nice to see him and his pal Chiaotzu in the spotlight again.

Yamcha was one of the very first characters to be introduced into Dragon Ball, as little Goku came across the bandit while traveling with a teen Bulma. Upon their first confrontation,Yamcha actually beat Gokuin a fight while using his Wolf Fang Fist technique!

This left Goku unable to fight as he was trapped in the rubble. In the modern Dragon Ball Super era, Yamcha is generally nowhere to be seen. Not only that but Yamcha has now been treated as a joke character ever since his death when fighting Saibamen.

Goten is the newest character that sits on this list, but even with how new he is within the show, the character almost has no real spotlight. Trunks — born around the same time as Goten — on the other hand, has his very own future storyline!

Of course, Goten does have a main spotlight in the Buu Saga, but that’s just because he was fused into Gotenks!Gohan, his older brother, had some of the best character progression in the anime, but Goten was just born a Super Saiyan while playing around the entire show.

6Master Roshi

Master Roshi was once considered a force to be reckoned with in Dragon Ball’s first anime adaptation. In fact, it is notable to remember that Roshi was actually Goku’s master at one point in time, training the young Saiyan into the martial arts master he is today.

Master Roshi even taught Goku thefamously known Kamehameha wavetechnique, which has gained so much popularity that it was even added to Fortnite as an event. In Dragon Ball Super, Master Roshi received a single spotlight when fighting in the Tournament of Power.

Dragon Ball Z kickstarted the anime off with a menacing start as Goku was almost immediately killed off. This happened when a Saiyan arrived on earth who proclaimed himself to be Goku’s brother, Raditz.

master roshi is one of the strongest old men in anime

Raditz was the strongest foe that the Z Fighters had ever come across thus far, and it took everything Piccolo and Goku had to finish him off. Gokueven sacrificed himself to beat Raditzin the end. Raditz has had absolutely no significance in the franchise afterward, which is questionable as he is Goku’s brother.

Regarding deities in the Dragon Ball anime, there is definitely no near shortage of the vast audience of gods and goddesses within the world of Dragon Ball. In fact, Goku now even has access to a god-like power, almost makinghima deity.

The original Dragon Ball featured a minor deity who appeared as a cat — this was Korin. Korin was essentially a guard in Kami’s tower, as he decided who was worthy of greeting Kami. Korin is also the one that creates Sensu Beans! Unfortunately, Korin never really greets the audience any longer, with close to zero seconds of screen time.

Goku has died multiple times in the Dragon Ball Z show, at least more than once, anyway. After Cell killed Goku way back in the Cell Saga, he was training in Other World for about seven years. During this time, Other World actually hosted a martial arts tournament!

Of course, Goku participated in this Other World tournament. During this time,he had to fight against Pikkon.Pikkon, who resembled Piccolo (purposefully), was definitely an incredible fighter. Unfortunately, fans haven’t seen the character after that, so maybe it is time for the character to come back.

Goku met his lovely wife in the Dragon Ball anime when they were just kids. In Dragon Ball Z, the two are actually married and revealed to have a kid that they named after Goku’s Grandpa Gohan. After that, the couple also had Goten, another superpowered individual with Saiyan powers.

Chi-Chi, Goku’s wife, is seen pretty frequently in the anime still, but it’s always in the same places, whether it be at home or chasing down her husband. Chi-Chi was actually a pretty good fighter back in the day, and it would be amazing to see the character show off some moves at some point. Either that or just some more individual scenes in general.

Many characters provide comedic relief within the fierce world of Dragon Ball, but almost none could come as close to Oolong during his time as peak comedy in 1986 Dragon Ball. Oolong appeared as a pig for the majority of his time in the anime, but he was actually a shape-shifter.

Oolong had the ability to turn himself into just about anything and anyone. Usually, he does this to hide or scare away others. Oolong didn’t really have much spotlight in the new anime, aside from deciding the fate of earth with Beerus in early Dragon Ball Super.
