As the developers of theLife is Strangeseries,Vampyr, and more, developer Dontnod Entertainment has been delivering several games with a big impact over the last few years. With the studio now working on several upcoming titles, Dontnod has grown significantly over the years and is expanding even further with a brand new studio and the promise of a new project on the horizon.
Dontnod Entertainment has announced that the company is opening a brand new studio in Montreal, Canada, marking its first international office location. Dontnod currently is headquartered in Paris, France, and according toa report fromGamesIndustry.bizcurrently has over 250 employees working in the Paris studio.
In a statement from Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert, the company is “delighted to share our plans of expansion with the opening of this new office in Montreal.” Guilbert also added that the goal of the new studio is to “be able to envision even more ambitious titles and keep writing wonderful stories of our players.” Dontnod also detailed that the studio is looking to expand with a diverse staff in mind, and “create games that reflect that diversity.”
Alongside the announcement of the new studio, Dontnod also is seemingly hiring for a new, unannounced project, but it is unclear at this time whether the new project will be a new IP or a new title set in one of its franchises, such asLife is StrangeorVampyr.
Dontnod Entertainment most recently completedLife is Strange 2, which releasedits fifth and final episodethis past December. At this time, the studio is also currently working on two other projects,Twin MirrorandTell Me Why.Twin Mirroris an episodic adventure mystery game being published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and is planned to debut for PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.Tell Me Whyis a new adventure game being published by Xbox Game Studios for Xbox One and PC that is expected sometime this summer. Since its debut,Tell Me Whyhas been notable forbuilding a story focused around a transgender main characternamed Tyler.
