Netflix recently released Season 2 ofThe Witcher, and after watching the new episodes, fans wonder when they’ll get the third season of the Netflix series.
The Witcheris probably one of the biggest Netflix projects, thanks to the already existing popularity of the franchise because of CD Projekt Red’s video games. The streaming platform dropped the first season back in 2019, and as expected, the show broke all records.

Interestingly, Netflix confirmed Season 3 ofThe Witcherin September 2021, implying that the studio is wholeheartedly committed to the project.
It’s been a few hours since Season 2’s release, and the show is currently sitting at a 88% audience score onRotten Tomatoes. So, considering the positive reviews around Season 2, it’s safe to say that Netflix’s faith in the project isn’t misplaced.
Is There a Release Window for The Witcher Season 3?
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t confirmed a possible release window forThe WitcherSeason 3 as of yet. However, we can make an educated guess based on the production of Season 2.
Apparently, the filming for Season 2 began in early 2020, only a couple of months after the show’s renewal. However, the production was interrupted twice because of COVID-19, and the studio wrapped the filming in April 2021.
Now, according toDigital Spy, the writers forThe Witcherare already hard at work on the script of Season 3. Along with that, somereportssuggest that the studio will begin filming the new season in early 2022.
So, if we don’t take any unforeseen delays into account, Season 3 ofThe Witchermight arrive in early 2023, and if we are lucky, the release could be in late 2022.

The Witcherfans have a lot to look forward to besides Season 3 of the Netflix series. Apparently, the studio is working on a prequel series titledThe Witcher: Blood Origin.
