Diablo 4features an extensive crafting system with over 20 unique resources to collect. Most resources are easy to farm (if a little tedious) once you know where to look, but this information isn’t always spelled out.

Instead, players turn to a guide to help them fill in the blanks. Whether you’ve found a material and don’t know what to do with it, or desperately need that one ingredient for an awesome upgrade, we’ve got you.
Crafting Materials In Diablo 4
Crafting materials are a key component of Diablo 4, and should always be picked up when available. These materials are kept in a hidden inventory, don’t take up any space, and do not have a stacking limit.
In the mid to late game, you’ll be able to use them to craft consumables and upgrades for your gear. These upgrades are the most reliable and important power spike for your character once their build is set up.

Crafting materials can be acquired in one of a few ways. Some materials are available through multiple methods, while others only appear in a specific circumstance. Ways to gather materials include:

While a few of these activities will be important in your first run-through of the game, most are geared toward end-game play. However, it is advised to grab any resources you happen across. They do not take up inventory space nor do they have a stacking limit.

Most plant resources are obtained from interactable bushes in the Overworld, although some (such as Fiend Rose) also drop from enemies. Most plants only spawn in a specific region, except for Gallowsvine and Angel Breath.

Plants are used in the crafting of potion upgrades, elixirs, and incense.
Ores are found in rocky nodes that you’ll see scattered across the Overworld. They can also be obtained from salvaging gear. If you are lucky, you can also find gems when opening up these Ore Deposits.

Silver Ore
Found in every region but only in Glittering Ore deposits.
These Ores are used forupgrading armorand jewelry at the respective vendors.

Animal skins, like ores, are fairly common and not very diverse. You’ll find them as a drop from bestial enemies, or as a quest reward. You’ll need them to improve your armor via upgrading, so you can potentially go through a lot of it.

While these resources are found all over the game, you’ll have the best luck finding them in areas with mostly beast enemies. The regions of Scosglen (especially the Morrdaine Lodge Stronghold) are notoriously good for this.

Monster Parts
Monster Parts come from exactly where you’d think - these materials are only found as drops from fighting enemies. Monster part crafting materials will be required to upgrade your potions. The drop rates for these crafting materials can be low, meaning it can take a while to farm them.

Generally, the higher tier the enemy the more likely they are to drop, so keep that in mind when farming. Additionally, some regions appear to have a higher drop rate than others, see the guide associated with a resource for more information.
These are items that do not fit into one of the other categories. Most are obtained by salvaging unwanted gear, except for Forgotten Souls which are Hell Tide exclusive. You’ll use these materials for late-game upgrades to high-tier gear, or the crafting of Nightmare Sigils.
