Hopefully, The Dawning will be around for over two months, which is enough for you to get your hands on all the rewards, but the sooner you do it the better! That being said, you might find yourself confused about the very first step of the event, when it asks you tobake a gift for Commander Zavala.
How To Bake Cookies During The Dawning
First of all, travel to theTowerand meetEva Levante, who is standing in the same place that you visited Lord Saladin last week forIron Banner. After talking to Eva, you will receive a few items, among which there is one namedEva’s Holiday Oven. That is your tool to bake gifts and cookies throughout the entirety of the event, andyou can access it through the Quests menu.
So, open yourDirector, head to theQuests tab, and select thesecond icon from the top on the left menu named “Quests.“Here, you should be able to findEva’s Holiday Oven 2.1. Use thePreview buttonon this quest, and you will be redirected to thebaking menu.

For your first baking, there is only a single option. Hover your cursor over it and bake the only available cookie. Now, you can meet Commander Zavala in the Tower and hand over his gift.
Baking Requirements
If you return to the baking menu again, you will realize that new slots and options are available. To bake any given cookie in The Dawning event, you will always need three types of ingredients. The most important one is theEssence of The Dawning, which acts like the flames of the oven and is required for all cookies.
The other two ingredients, however, aredifferent from one cookie to the other. You can find the details for those ingredients in the bottom slots. Thegreen ingredient can always be farmed by killing certain types of enemies. We have six different enemy factions in Destiny 2, which means we will have six Uncommon Ingredients. On the other hand, however, you haveRare Ingredients, which can be farmed by killing any given enemy in a certain way. Some requireVoidkills, some require Melee kills, and so on.

These ingredients will drop in most activitiesin the game, but the best and easiest way to farm them is through playingRitual PlaylistsorPublic Events. When killing an enemy drops any kind of ingredient, you will collect them automatically.
