Over 30 years ago, Dennis Quaid was going through one of the worst kinds of obstacles in life, an addiction to narcotics, specifically cocaine. According toPage Six, Quaid was also a musician on the side and when his band was signed to a label, they had to break up because he was unreliable.
During a conversation he had withThe Sunday Times, the 70-year-old actor revealed that he would use at least two grams of cocaine every day. He added,
I liked coke. I liked it to go out. I had one of those white-light experiences where I saw myself being dead and losing everything I had worked for my whole life. So I put myself in rehab.
However, Quaid revealed that he tried to fill that void of being away from a life of addiction by growing closer to religion (viaPEOPLE). The actor claimed that his addiction was so out of hand and that he would add cocaine to his movie budget as “petty cash” (viaPage Six).
