Though armor sets are arguably less important than any other equipment (like weapons and rings) inDemon’s Souls, you will find yourself tracking down the best armor not to be killed by a single hit from a formidable enemy. Sometimes getting stuck in an area makes hunting down an armor upgrade an enticing prospect — every edge you’re able to manage to get counts, after all.

If that just so happens to describe the situation you’re in, then you’re in luck! We’ve tallied up the ten best sets of armor you’re able to gear up with in Demon’s Souls. Seek out one of these slick, damage-absorbing suits if you’re wanting to makeone of gaming’s most grueling experienceshurt just a little bit less.
10Dull Gold Set
The Dull Gold set handily provides players with resistance against Bleed, Plague, and Blunt Damage. It also gives significant protection overall — while looking incredibly stylish, which is a nice bonus in and of itself.
This suit of armor can be obtained by defeating Phosphorescent Slug within the Swamp of Sorrow or taking down Selen Vinland.

9Brushwood Set
If you like to follow a high-defense build, the Brushwood set is one of the best armor sets to nab in Demon’s Souls. It provides the highest defensive stats compared to others; however, this also makes the Brushwood set the heaviest of heavy armor.
An armor set being the heaviest means that your mobility will be restricted and your stamina regeneration will be delayed, which is why the Brushwood set is placed so near the bottom of the list. It is dropped by Biorr, located in The Nexus.

8Binded Cross Set
This is another viable option as a medium armor class with a traditional appearance, which is reminiscent of the Undead Village in Dark Souls 3. It can be worn by any character without restriction.
You can obtain the Binded Cross set by decimating Executioner Miralda in her human form. But you must first head to the Gates of Boletaria to enter the duel with her.

7Ancient King’s Set
It can only be worn by Male characters, with its weight-to-defense ratio making it one of the best choices in the game. The Ancient King’s set is obtained by killing Old King Doran in the Mausoleum in Boletarian Palace 1-1.
Old King Doran is one of the toughest NPCs in Demon’s Souls, who asks you to prove your worth to be rewarded. You must impress him with your combat prowess and then send him back to hell to receive the items.

6Fluted Set
Despite it being a starting armor for the Knight class in the game, the Fluted armor set is stronger than you think. If you don’t want to use the heavy roll, this suit of armor is entirely viable. It can be equipped by both genders and provides a certain amount of endurance.
The Fluted armor is obtained in the Prison of Hope, on the first floor, if you did not choose the Knight as your starting class.

5Penetrator Set
Don’t pass up the Penetrator set if you get the chance to use it (and it works with your build, of course). It can be combined with the Penetrator sword to increase efficiency against heavy armor and shields. As its name implies, the Penetrator set is all about penetration — but it handily provides resistance against negative status effects.
You must first trade Ceramic Coin to Sparkly the Crow to obtain the Rusted Key, which can be used to open the door discovered behind a hidden wall in Tower Knight Archstone.
4Blue/Red-Eyed Knight Set
The Blue-Eye Knight armor set is a four-piece suit that can be found individually all across Boletarian Palace. Each piece of armor is challenging to find due to dragon attacks. However, when you bring all pieces together, you gain immense durability against all types of damage.

The Red-Eyed armor set, on the other hand, is available for those who pre-ordered the game before its global launch, making it something of an exclusive status symbol. Both variants of this armor set are heavier and stronger than most.
3Rogue Set
Woven with gold thread, the Rogue set features one of the coolest pieces of equipment in the game, Gold Mask, which is dropped by Mephistopheles in Upper Latria. The rest of the set can also be found in the same venue to bring all pieces together. Keep in mind that this suit of armor can only be equipped by female characters.
Head to Prison of Hope 2F East, then you will see a body in a cell. However, you must first obtain a cell key, which requires Pure White World Tendency.
2Gloom Set
This is a heavy unisex armor set with Plague Resistance as a particularly notable feature — it’ll lower your stamina regeneration, but the high resistance and defensive stats make it entirely worth the trade-off.
When you kill Yurt, the Silent Chief, in the Tower of Latria, he will drop the Gloom set in all of its glory.
1Dark Silver Set
The Dark Silver armor set is one of the most striking suits in Demon’s Souls Remake. Unfortunately, it can only be equipped by male characters. It’s a good all-around heavy set that provides stiff resistance to status effects in addition to its considerable defensive properties.
Made up of the oldest dark silver in the land, the armor set is dropped by Carl Vinland in Valley of Defilement — it also has an accompanying shield, if you want to go for the whole aesthetic.
