Homelander is arguably one of the worst, most spine-chillingly odious superheros in pop culture history. Antony Starr’s rendition of the character, however? Chef’s kiss.

After three gory seasons of supes wreaking havoc,The Boysis back with a fresh batch of satire-flavored violent drama in the form of season 4, and the infamous Homelander is more evil than ever.
Honestly, it’s a shame that Starr hasn’t been graced with an Emmy for his phenomenal portrayal of the character yet.The Boysshowrunner thinks so, too, and you know he’s worth it when the creator himself is vouching for it.

Eric Kripke – Antony Starr Deserves An Emmy For Homelander
Nobody deserves an Emmy Award more thanAntony Starrfor his horrifically electrifying performance as the villainous superhero Homelander. And nobody is more supportive of the cause than the show’s creator.
When the official account ofThe Boysposted an exciting teaser of the upcoming fourth episode onX (formerly Twitter), showrunnerEric Kripkewent on the social media platform to address the injustice of Starr not being acknowledged and awarded for his peerless talent.

“Greatest villain performance we have seen”: If Anyone Can Surpass Heath Ledger’s Joker Performance It Has to Be Antony Starr as Homelander
“This is among the very best and definitely one of the scariest,”the screenwriter and producer wrote, referring to theBansheestar’s depiction of the malevolent supe in a new episode of the dark comedy.“Give this man an Emmy already!”Kripke urged.

And it’s not just theSupernaturalcreator – with his glorious Homelander profile picture – who’s backing up Starr. Even fans believe that the latter has rightfully earned the badge of honor for an Emmy. Now, that’s what true devotion looks like.

The BoysFans Back Up Showrunner & Root For Antony Starr
Starr’s delineation as the unhinged superhero in comic book adaptation on Prime Video is perhaps one of the greatest contributions to the treasure trove of pop culture. So, it’s shocking, borderline criminal, thatThe Covenantstar hasn’t even been nominated for an Emmy, let alone receive one yet.
From his neurotic and frighteningly unpredictable behavior to his provocative, straight-up violent approach towards… well, everything, Homelander is one hell of a scary superhero. That is precisely why Starr deserves the recognition for the role because it’s not facile to deliver one of the most stellar superhero performances of all time.
Antony not getting an Emmy for his portrayal of Homelander would go down as one of the greatest crimes in human history

Boggles my mind how Antony does have at the least one Emmy for this portrayal of Homelander.

How Antony Starr has not gotten more recognition for his work is criminal. These big awards don’t usually look at shows like The Boys, but Antony is just phenomenal as Homelander!

We’ve already seen so many incredible performances from Anthony Starr already, at this point he deserved an Emmy yesterday 🥶

WhileThe Boysdid land an Emmy nomination for Best Drama back in 2021, it didn’t win the award and the year after that was a no-go because the show ended up being ineligible for the awards, to begin with. The internet naturally broke out in a frenzy of rage owing to the unfairnessof it all but two years down the line, and Starr still hasn’t been bestowed with what he’s earned.
Here’s to hoping this year it will be different.
The Boysseason 4, episode 4, airs on Thursday, June 20, on Amazon Prime Video.
