Deep Rock Galactic: Survivoris a difficult game. It asks a lot from the player, and even feels unfair at times. The hoard of enemies coming towards you is never-ending,there’s never enough timeto mine, and you can never manage to collect enough experience to stay ahead of the curve.

Kill the bugs and plunder their mines!

One way to alleviate your problems is by getting artifacts through supply drops in each of the five stages. If you manage to get artifacts from all five supply drops, your chances of survival get much higher. That being said, not all the artifacts are as good as the others. There are a few that stand out and should always be chosen if you have a choice. Don’t hesitate to reroll if you think you’ll get a better artifact!

10Gold/Nitra Scanner

Good For A Miner

One of the first few artifacts you’ll unlock in your run will be the Gold or Nitra Scanner. Both of these are fairly elementary and don’t play a major role in the game. They give the player a chance to get gold and nitra through mining.

However, since the amount of resources the player can collect this way is fairly limited, these artifacts aren’t very useful and should be passed over if any of the better ones are available. That being said, they can be a great boon to the Miner subclass since you may mine a lot of rock when playing as a Miner due to their innate ability.

9FRZ Shield Belt

Get Some Breathing Room

250,000 might sound like a lot of damage, but you can reach it fairly quickly. Once you’ve unlocked this artifact, it can help you survive longer during runs. Since the artifact pushes enemies back every time it’s activated, it gives the player breathing room. It’s especially useful in scenarios where the player is surrounded on all sides. Instead of taking damage from a lot of enemies at once while trying to get out of a big mob, players only need to take damage once to push enemies back and secure a route through which they can escape.

Furthermore, you may combine the FRZ Shield Belt with the BRN Shield Belt to get even more breathing room. The BRN Shield belt explodes in a ring of fire dealing damage and burning nearby enemies when you take damage. Similar to the FRZ Shield Belt, it also has a 30 second cooldown. You can unlock the BRN Shield Belt if you deal 250,000 Fire Damage in total throughout your campaign.

8Barley Bulb Juice

Take A Minute And Run

Movement speed is an extremely important metric in DRG: Survivor. If you can’t evade the mob coming towards you with the intent to dismember and kill, you can’t live to see another day. Dealing damage is important as well, but evading damage is just as important.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors - 10 Best Early Game Weapons

This list will help you decide which weapon in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors is best for the early game runs.

There are several occasions in the game when you’ll need to stand still, especially when you’re mining for materials or trying to deal a lot of damage to a specific enemy. Having an extra movement speed buff right after standing still is a great way to maximize your gains and minimize any chance of getting damaged by an incoming enemy.

7Popup Tripod

Still And Deadly

When combined with the BB Juice, the Popup Tripod can be a deadly weapon. If you have a powerful enough weapon, it can shine even on its own. While it might sound like a bad idea to stand still in front of a massive mob, it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

First, create a choke point by mining a narrow path into the surrounding rock to streamline the enemies coming towards you. Then, stand at the end of the path and rain destruction on the bugs coming after you. Once the mob gets large enough to push past the choke point, take a round trip and collect all the experience points dropped by the enemies you killed.

6BLT Ration Pack

Rejuvenating Sandwich

In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, it’s important to deal damage, kill bugs, and gain resources. However, to do all of that, you need to stay alive and see the end of the dive. The best way to do so is by increasing your movement speed and killing anything in your path.

The second-best way is to increase your total health and become an unkillable tank.Combine that with Life Regeneration, and you’ve got the solution to a very complex, very hard-to-solve problem.

5Armor Grease

Impossible Target

When you’re moving, you really don’t want to be hit. However, it becomes very hard to avoid bumping into an enemy or two every now and again. While this isn’t world ending, it can be ifthe enemy is an elite or the boss. Having a chance to avoid any damage altogether is an incredible boon that can save your run and let you live to see another day.

You can combine this with Reflex Caliber, another artifact, to further increase efficacy. Reflex Caliber increases your dodge chance if you’re taking damage and can be unlocked once you’ve taken 2000 points of total damage in a single run. When used in tandem, you’ll be able to get out of most situations scot-free.

Pew Pew Pew

Though it might seem counter-intuitive to take an artifact that reduces your movement speed when movement speed is one of the most important parts of a game like DRG: Survivor, it’s the correct choice.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor: 10 Best Upgrades, Ranked

Curious about which upgrade to get first in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor? This list will find you the best ones.

It is important to stay mobile to survive, but it’s even more important to deal a lot of damage and kill as many bugs as possible to continue surviving. Moreover, a small 15% decrease can easily be made up through a level up or two and it is well worth the +50% Fire Rate you get in return, especially since all your weapons gain a buff, not just one.

3Pickled Nitra

Let Them Cook

Nitra is an important resource in any run, letting you buy level-ups and upgrades. However, if you manage to obtain the Pickled Nitra artifact, you’re able to put the Nitra you obtain to a better use, increasing your damage output. If you obtain the Nitragenic Powder as well, an artifact that increases your crit chance by 0.5% for every Nitra you have, you’ll be a bug-killing machine.

The way to play the game once you have this artifact is by focusing all of your efforts on obtaining Nitra at the start of each stage and hoarding it like your life depends on it. Because it does. If you manage to collect enough Nitra, you’ll be a bit slow, but you’ll deal so much damage you won’t have to worry about anything getting near you.

2Squint-EE5

Steady Aim

If you look really close at your screen when a hoard is coming towards you, you’ll notice that there are a lot of bugs. All of these bugs have but one objective; killing you. If you’re a wise space dwarf, you’ll want to stop that from happening at all costs, and the Squint-EE5 is one of the best ways to ensure you’ll kill the bugs before they kill you.

Reducing your damage output by 30% is terrible, but since you double your crit damage, and increase your crit chance by 30% in the meantime anyway, it’s well worth the lost damage points. Crit damage is not as consistent as regular damage, but the increased Crit Chance should balance out the numbers in your favor anyway.

1Pay2Win Console

Greed Really Does Kill

Gold is a great way to obtain upgrades and heal yourself in between stages. However, it’s quite useless during a stage. However, if you get the Pay2Win Console, you may utilize your gold as soon as you get it for incredible rewards.

Doubling your damage every 10 seconds is not a small matter. Since you double it every 10 seconds continuously, it has a compounding effect that leaves you incredibly powerful. The only cap on your damage output is the amount of gold you can scavenge. With a mere 100 gold coins, you can increase your damage output to a ridiculous amount, given enough time.
