Behaviour Interactivehas released a new developer update, providing an overview of all the biggest changes coming toDead By Daylightalong with the Survivor Activity HUD. The update discusses improved wiggle mechanics, changes to The Nurse and The Knight, plus a challenge tracker and game-flow improvements.
The Survivor Activity HUD is a system that would help bridge the gap between solo survivors and premade groups. The developer team elaborated on the system, revealing that each survivor will be able to display their current action next to their portrait. These actions include repairing a generator, opening an exit gate, healing, mending, and covering, as well as searching a chest and blessing a totem.
“This not only gives you vital information to plan your next move but also gives you some visibility on what your teammates are doing to build camaraderie between you and your fellow Survivors.” Behaviour Interactive detailed the system in itsdeveloper update.

The developers claim the introduction of the new Activity HUD is to avoid anything that could give coordinated groups an advantage. Among the other new features discussed in the dev update is the new wiggle mechanics developed based on community feedback. Faster wiggle progression has been removed from great skill checks, and a new sound for non-attempts has been added.
Additionally, the new system’s interaction with Decisive Strike has been cleaned up, meaning “players will be credited a small amount of wiggle progress to make up for the added delay before these skill checks appear,” according to Behaviour Interactive.
The future update will also introduce notable changes to The Nurse, one of which turns her blink attacks into special attacks to prevent the character from activating basic attack perks. Furthermore, the developer team revisited her add-ons and brought the strongest and weakest of the bunch closer in line. The details of which can be found below:

Behaviour Interactive is also making The Knight’s powers more appealing to use in different ways, thanks to changes to the core gameplay. First off, the orb survivors can see when the killer is creating a path that will now shrink with distance, disappearing when the path is longer than 10 meters. Secondly, The Knight will now gain the Haste Status Effect for a limited time after creating a path longer than 10 meters. Lastly, guards will now move to the position they marked a Survivor and start chasing depending on the length of the patrol path.
Some gameplay adjustments for the Eyrie of Crows will also be added with the upcoming update, reducing the overall size of the map. It will be roughly square rather than a rectangle, allowing killers to patrol generators more easily. Moreover, maze tiles have been removed from the main building and shack.
Last but not least, a challenge tracker will appear at set intervals as players make progress on an active challenge during the match. “You can choose to toggle between two settings that will indicate progression on a challenge, as well as its completion.”
Dead by Daylight update 6.5.0 will bring plenty of gameplay improvements, small changes to Merciless Killer, Iridescent Shard options for existing outfits, and an update on cheating. You can find all the details regarding version 6.5.0, which will be available via the game’s public test build servers on January 4th, on theofficial website.
