David Soul Passes Away From Longterm Health Complications

Born on July 24, 2025, David Richard Solberg, became a celebrated actor under his stage name, David Soul. He hailed from Chicago, Illinois, and was from a Norwegian-American family. Soul is widely known for his acting and singing skills across a career spanning 4 decades. TheStarsky & Hutchstar’s death was confirmed by his wife, Helen Snell, who shared the following statement on the actor’s website andX, on Thursday.

“David Soul — beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother — died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family. He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist, and dear friend. His smile, laughter, and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.”

Although Snell did not share a cause of death, Soul likely passed away from health complications caused by hislengthy battlewith cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Soul was 80 years old at the time of his passing. He was married five times, including to Snell, leading to the actor obtaining British citizenship. Soul was residing in London, England, at the time of his passing. He is survived by Snell and his six children from current and previous marriages.
