A special episode of Night City Wire has been confirmed by CD Projekt Red for September 6th. The live stream will reportedly take a look at the upcoming anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, as well as “what’s next” for Cyberpunk 2077.

Netflix recently confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will stream from September 13th, with a new trailer available to watch prior to the release in a few weeks. The show is an anime spin-off based on CD Projekt Red’s latest title and will feature 10 episodes following the story of a street kid called David, who is attempting to survive in a technologically advanced dystopian future.

It has also been confirmed by CD Projekt Red that the team are hard at work on new expansions and DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Piotr Nielubowicz, the Vice President of CD Projekt Red, confirmed the news earlier this year saying “we’re working on further DLCs as well as a major expansion featuring a new storyline”.

When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC back in 2020, the developers were met with a huge amount of criticism for the large number of bugs and glitches present in the game. Shortly after its release, the game was completely removed from the PlayStation Store and refunds were issued on a no questions asked basis to anyone who requested one.

Numerous patches later, Cyberpunk 2077 is in a much better state. A next-gen version of the game was released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in February of this year, with the patch including a huge amount of visual improvements, fixes, and new features.

It’s unknown exactly what will be showcased at the upcoming Night City Wire event, but many fans are hopeful that a new DLC expansion will be announced. The special live stream will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at 8AM PT / 11AM ET via the developer’s officialTwitch channel.
