Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueledwas released by Beenox and Activisionon July 25, 2025.The game was met withcritical praise, and the developers are keen on sticking to the game with post-launch support. On July 3, the first round of post-launch support will arrive, adding new characters, the first Grand Prix Season, and more. You can check out a trailer highlighting some of the updates below.
The game’s first Grand Prix Season runs from July 3 to July 28. During this time, there will be Grand Prix Challenges for players to complete in order to gain XP and unlock new rewards. This first Grand Prix Season does bring new karts, skins, and customization items to the game, but most notably it allows players to unlock new characters, including Tawna. She was Crash’s girlfriend in the firstCrash Bandicootgame, and her addition toCrash Team Racing Nitro-Fueledmarks the first time she’s ever been playable in a racing game featuring Crash. The Nitro Squad, better known as the Trophy Girls in the originalCTRfor PS1, are also playable now.
Another major draw ofCrash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’sfirst Grand Prix Season is the new Twilight Tour map. It is inspired by the Middle East and dynamically shift from day to night while players are racing on it. All of these additions are pretty hefty for being less than two weeks out from the game’s launch, but Beenox and Activision don’t plan on stopping here. The next season will introduce characters like Baby T. and Baby Crash, while the one after that will actually bring Spyro the Dragon, who saw his own remaster last year, into the mix. DualShockers will keep you updated as more details about those seasons come out.
