The pandemic was a dark time for the entire world. Lives were changed and lost within the span of a few years, and the way of living completely changed. As everyone tried to cope with a potentially nearing end, there were also all kinds of struggles that were affecting every single person.

Be it mental, physical, or financial, its impact on the world can still be felt. Considering how much the world was suffering at this time, one would assume that all celebrities would be on the side of the people, trying to aid their fans in a challenging and confusing time.
However, some seemed to have taken this as an open opportunity to exploit their fans. Recently, a report was released relating to Chris Brown and Lil Wayne about how they took money from their fans to fund their extravagant lifestyles.

Lil Wayne took money from his fans to fund himself for two years
Recently,Business Insiderreleased a report aboutLil Wayneand Chris Brown’s spending and earnings during the pandemic, and it is safe to say that it is very dark. Specifically talking about Wayne, also known as Dwayne Carter Jr., the platform claimed that he received “an $8.9 million grant from a little-known pandemic-relief program.”
However, the money was not spent on anyone who actually needed it. Despite being a successful rapper, he allegedly took this money and spent it on funding his lifestyle. According to the report, Carter Jr. focused most of his spending on paying his ex-manager Cortez Bryant as well as commissions to his then-manager Mack Maine.

The rest was spent on flights on private jets, lawyers, clothes, his partners, and much more. Additionally, he reportedly also had a concert on New Year’s Eve 2021 that he ended up missing because of “the wind and the flights.” It was later speculated that the rapper spent the entire night partying with 2 Chainz in the same city.

Chris Brown took most of his grant money for himself
After Lil Wayne’s alleged spending was detailed,Chris Brownwas brought into the conversation. It would seem that the rapper’s company, CBE Touring, was reportedly given a grant of $10 million, out of which more than half went into his own pocket. The money that he received was supposed to go towards supporting live entertainment for his fans.
However, if the report is to be believed, he did something completely different from the money. It was claimed that the rapper spent quite an impressive chunk of $79.2K on his 33rd birthday party. Then accountants, lawyers, insurance, and his crew were paid.

Ok, it’s time. That helmet needs to come off and little marshmallow needs to be held accountable. If not, we turn him into smores.
Class acts, the lot of them.
It’s disheartening to see funds meant for struggling businesses misused like this. Accountability is crucial!

However, the report claimed that the rapper did the most amount of spending on himself. There were other artists who were also detailed in this report, ranging from Steve Aoki to Rae Sremmurd, and even Marshmello.
It is safe to assume that fans of all of these artists would feel very betrayed to know that while the world was suffering, these stars were exploiting their fanbase and fame.
