Sprong charges up for his next attack.

“Stage 5: Sprong uses its Extermination Boom.”
Sprong shoots two blasts of energy at the entire party, back to back.
After Sprong completes his Stage 5 attack,he will repeat his attacks in the same order mentioned. However, at each quarter health, thenumber of times Sprong will attack on Stage 1 and Stage 3 increases.

A superboss of this caliber demands a super strategy!
For example, once you drain a quarter of Sprong’s health, Stage 3 will now consist of a 5-hit combo, instead of four. When Sprong’s health is half, this will increase to a 6-hit combo, and then finally, with a quarter of his health left, it will turn into a 7-hit combo.
How to Beat Sprong in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
To beat Sprong inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, it’s important to have each character play their role and do it well.
For starters, we want to getVerso’s Perfection Rankto S as quickly as possible. This can be done through hisOverloadskill, which will instantly shoot him to Rank A. Then use basic attacks to reach S Rank and gain AP.
When Verso is in S Rank, his Phantom Stars skill will deal a very high amount of damage, especially with the Painted Power Picto we discussed earlier.
Keep in mind that using Overload will reduce Verso’s health to 1, so it’s essential tohave Sciel on deck to use her Grim Harvest skill.Not only will this deal damage to Sprong, but it will also heal all party members.

Make sure to activate Luminas that help with gathering AP. Some examples includeEnergising Start II,Energising Parry, andEnergising Turn.
Maelle is very helpful with her Burning Canvas and Payback skills.Burning Canvasdeals high Void damage and applies Burn, a great way to deal passive damage, andPaybackdeals high Physical damage with areduced AP consumption for each attack parried last turn.
Considering Sprong attacks a ton, there is potential for plenty of parries, making Maelle’s Payback a perfect skill for this fight. This will result in her being able to use her skills more often.
Lastly,don’t forget about Gradient Attacks.I found Verso’sStriker Gradient Attackto deal the most damage. UseSciel’s Fortune’s Furyon Verso before he uses Striker to deal double damage.
