But whileOppenheimerquickly became a critical and commercial success, Hayao Miyazaki was left to face the wrath of Japanese netizens. Korean netizens argued that the Zero fighter plane represented the military aggression of Japan and also the fact that these planes were assembled by forced Korean laborers. Inan interview,Miyazaki admittedthat while Japan had acted out of foolish arrogance during the war, the Zero plane represented one of the few things that the Japanese could be proud of.
