In an interview withThe Times, Theron admitted to spending a significant amount of watching how the former CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, would treat the women around him. The 49-year-old stated that though she did not share the channel’s political views, it made for good study material.

After all, Theron, who is a producer herself, wanted to make sure that the film was well made. With the actress diving into hours of footage, it helped give her new insight into her character, Megyn Kelly. In fact, it even helped her absolutely nail the character’s voice, which she described as“a strange cadence, and a very unusual pitch, very low.”

Although most stars would have tackled the role of Kelly as one of the hardest in their repertoire, Theron seemed to think otherwise.

In the same interview with The Time, the 49-year-old opened up about how her role as Megyn Kelly was harder on her than any of her action roles. In fact, Theron believed that putting on 30lb and wearing crooked false teeth inMonsterhad been the easier project.
The physical stuff is almost easier because you just have to go to a gym and work out with your trainers.
Theron admitted that her previous transformations had been easier to undergo. However, for her 2019 film, it was a much more delicate thing. The actress explained,“It’s the detailed stuff when you have to sound like somebody or carry an emotional arc . . . those things are really delicate.”
