In a recent turn of events, Heather Aldret, who participated in Season 41 of the show, has been diagnosed with cancer. When the same update resurfaced on Reddit,Survivorfans quickly rallied behind her to show their support.
After Heather Aldret entered the show, her gameplay was often unnoticed by fellow players, and she also didn’t get a lot of screen time in the initial episodes of the show. She was among the five people namely Richard Foyé, Erika Casupanan, Xander Hastings, and Deshawn Radden who walked into the finale of the show. While Casupanan won that season, Heather Aldret was also lauded for her sportsmanship.

Season 41 ofSurvivorwas monumental in many ways. Not only was it the first season after the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was also the starting point of the new era for the competitive reality show. However, bringing back a show likeSurvivorafter the pandemic was not an easy feat. And the production faced a number of issues on filming locations as global travel restrictions made Fiji, their usual filming location, off limits. In an interview viaEntertainment Weekly, Jeff Probst added“We immediately turned out full attention to finding another location.”

He continued that they even considered places like Georgia or Hawaii to shoot the show. Hawaii could have been a good substitute for Fiji given it maintains a classic island vibe. But despite this plan, the pandemic continued to disrupt their production plans until March 2021 when the show got the approval to return to Fiji.
