Currently, theBlack Ops 6open multiplayer beta is live, and it seems that all the changes the studio has made to the game are paying off, with fans more than satisfied with the results. New features like omni-movement, weapon adjustments, new game modes, and other additions are exciting players.

Is Call of Duty Back?

Despite the promise from all the videos we’ve seen so far, which differ fromModern Warfare 3last year, there was no guaranteeCall of Dutywould regain its previous quality.

Fortunately, theBlack Ops 6open beta and its multiplayer mode suggest that fans can confidently anticipate the return of greatness to this saga. This first-person shooter IP has been the victim of several not-that-solid titles, so this was a needed win.

Despite the limited selection of maps and modes in the open beta, the studio’s offerings hold significant promise. The four maps chosen for testing are Skyline, SCUD, Rewind, and Derelict.

These map designs are unique in that they are all quite open, with almost no hiding spots to linger in, allowing for a fluid pace of play where the action never stops.

Black Ops 6 Could Be the Beacon of Light Fans Have Been Waiting For

Thanks to Treyarch’s addition of omni-movement, combat mechanics have truly evolved. This mechanic allows players to run in all directions and dive in the same way, with almost no limitations to the angles.

Not only that, but they can also rotate in all directions while on the ground without needing to get up. This allows dynamics to change, making the entire surface suitable for combat, regardless of position.

Another significant addition that is making theCall of Dutycommunity have a blast is the ability to grab another player as a human shield. This will undoubtedly become the new way to torment opponents.

There are already thousands of viral videos showing players whispering in their opponent’s ear. This is a positive sign forBlack Ops 6, proving that players are genuinely having fun with what the studio has done.

A New Way to Experience Combat

Everything related to weapons, perks, and other elements also received adjustments, making handling an assault rifle feel better than ever compared to previous installments.

Clearly, Treyarch understood what people wanted and responded with excellent changes, making gameplay much smoother in terms of basic multiplayer. For a long time, the community had been asking for the model to change and now it finally has.

The damage system also changed, giving players a bit more leeway to survive and recover, making matches more dynamic. Overall, thanks to the synergy between maps, weapons, and omni-movement, everything points toBlack Ops 6being a turning point in theCall of Dutyfranchise.

The series, which has long needed a significant change, will achieve it thanks to Treyarch. The studio previously created two of the most well-received games in the IP.

Will the Quality Remain the Same in Other Modes?

The only remaining question is whether the campaign and zombie modes will uphold the same standard of excellence as the multiplayer mode.

According to story and zombie mode previews, everything suggests that the studio has worked hard to achieve the same quality in the rest of the game content. It looks likeBlack Ops 6will generally be one of the best titles in years.

This is a welcome respite for fans who held onto hope after the disastrousModern Warfare 3. Fortunately, the bet has paid off, andCall of Dutywill once again reach a quality level similar to its best days in the 2010s when sales were astronomical and the popularity incomparable.

Treyarch has once again done the unthinkable with a franchise that seemed to be in a terrible place in terms of quality, with its reputation at an all-time low.

I’m a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
