Where To Find The Rosymorn Monastary Guardian Of Faith
Players will encounter theGuardian of Faithin a magically locked room on the floor above the main entrance to the Rosymorn Monastery. Climb up thevines to the leftof the main entrance andjump across the gapthat’s over the locked entrance to reach thebalcony on the right side. Directly across from you, you’ll find alocked Enchanted Doorwith a Guardian of Faith on the other side. Players can reach the Guardian in one of two ways.
After entering the Guardian of Faith room, you’ll find that the Guardiandoesn’t automatically become hostile, even if you enter his range.Interacting with the bones at his feet or picking up the Ceremonial Battleaxe in the room will make him hostile.
How To Defeat The Guardian Of Faith
The key to defeating the Guardian of Faith is understanding how it works. Guardian of Faith is actually alevel 4Cleric Spell, and the Guardian you see before is the manifestation of that spell cast by someone else.
The way the spell works is that it summonsa stationary guardian that attacks anyone who enters its range for 20 Radiant Damage. Every time the Guardian does damage, he receives the same damage in return. This means thatif the Guardian deals 20 damage to someone, he will directly lose 20 health himself. And since the Guardian only has60 Health, this means that he can only strike three times if every swing is successful.
The Guardian also retaliates against anyone striking at him in melee range (thisonlyapplies to melee damage; magic damage or ranged damage doesn’t count.) And he has anAC of 20but doesn’t have any inherent resistances or immunities, making himvulnerable to all types of damage.
The best way to defeat a Guardian of Faith is to deal ranged damage—physical or magical—without entering the golden circle surrounding him.The Guardian can’t move, so if you just simply stay at the edges of the room, he can’t reach you to deal damage.
His only form of damage is through Strike of the Guardian (20 Radiant Damage), but it only works if your body is touching the golden circle around his body.The Guardian doesn’t drop anythingafter he is defeated.
