The long-running tussle between Larian Studios andBaldur’s Gate 3’s Dark Urge players continues, as the developers have yet again come after one of their more questionable practices. This time around, the developers were left shocked at the creativity of players and how far they could go to fulfill their Dark Urge, quite literally.

baldur’s gate 3 patch notes

Larian Studios recently released an update, and as always, the patch notes echoed the developer’s wittiness all across the board. One of the bugs that caught the attention of many was the developers coming after a practice which apparently a number of players were doing in the community.

Essentially, players would arrange for a coffin to be made for a couple who had lost their child, but would then go and kill the coffin maker. Right after, they would go back to the couple and tell them everything was alright. Following the most recent update, players will not be able to do this as it has been patched.

As noticed by auser on Reddit, the patch notes include the following fix:

This in all likelihood was the wrongdoing of Dark Urge players, whose bloodthirst has always managed to amaze the community. On the bright side, many players have now discovered for the first time that you could actually order the coffin, and are now heading to the game to help the couple. If you are one of them, you can simply go past the funeral home near the cemetery and you will find the coffin maker there.

This is not the first time the developers had to address one of the crazy practices in the community. In one of the previous updates, thedevelopers had to disable the ability to “yeet” Gale, which players were quite disappointed with. Players would put Gale in a coffin and through it into a chasm to permanently destroy the character. That was the amount of hate players had for Gale, and unfortunately, after the fix, players were not able to wipe the world of his existence. But with that being said, players have started to repeat the process over and over again to put him in a never-ending death cycle.

While the developers have fixed this coffin maker bug, it will not subdue the Dark Urge players. Over on Reddit, players are now considering uniting the entire family, to pay for their sins in their own Dark Urge way.
