Since hitting it big as Superman and then Geralt of Rivia, many felt the next big step in Henry Cavill’s career would be James Bond, and his performance inThe Man from U.N.C.L.E., further cemented this sentiment among fans. While this might no longer be the case, given the rumors surrounding the next Bond, he did excel at playing a Bond archetype in Guy Ritchie’s movie, and per Armie Hammer, Cavill was the epitome of professionalism on set.

But in contrast to Cavill’s demeanor in the spy thriller, his costar expressed that he was being annoying to theMan of Steelstar on purpose.
Armie Hammer confessed to being annoying on purpose
One of the biggest highlights fromThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.was the chemistry betweenArmie HammerandHenry Cavill, which is unsurprising as they got along pretty well off-screen, at least in the case of Hammer.
What Christopher Reeve Had to Endure for Superman Makes Henry Cavill and David Corenswet’s Transformation Look Too Easy
The Lone Rangerconfessed to pulling Cavill’s leg during their tenure in the spy thriller, as opposed to Cavill’s professionalism, Hammer would repeatedly antagonize his costar for the laughs (ViaVariety).
Henry is great because he is there to work. He’s there to do his job. Very professional, I would say even very guarded. So you don’t really get in. I like getting in there. So I’d be like, ‘Henry! Come on buddy.’ I’d antagonize him and just barge into his trailer and be like, ‘What’s up, bro?’ And he’d be like, ‘Hello? What are you doing? This is my trailer.’ But we had a great time.

While the spy thriller failed to make it big, despite Cavill’s boom in the superhero landscape at the time, given theactor’s bond with its director, Guy Ritchie, there might still be some hope for a sequel in the distant future.
Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer (mostly) did their stunts in the thriller
Although Cavill would later star opposite Tom Cruise, notable for doing his own stunts, inMission: Impossible – Fallout, the actor confessed to doing most of his stunts in the spy thriller (viaE! News),“as much as they allowed us to do”.
We did have stuntmen, obviously, but we did as much as they allowed us to do. Armie does some incredible stuff on a motorbike, but there’s only so much they’ll let him do for insurance reasons because we had other scenes to shoot after that one, in case he, you know, killed himself.

Even if a sequel eventually sees the light of day, it can’t be said for certain if Hammer will return, given the string of controversies that flooded his career in the last few years.
