Arc System Works is known for supporting its games for the long haul, with games likeGuilty Gear Striveproving how the studio won’t just abandon a game after a year or so.

It seems Arc is also looking to support its upcoming game even longer, based on what a dev from the studio said.

While Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls doesn’t even have a release date yet, Arc System Works is already looking ahead to post-launch support. The good news is, Arc is looking to keep the Marvel-based fighting game alive and kicking for a long time.

Speaking on stage at the recent Evo Championships in Las Vegas, Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka shared (translated by PlayStation Studios' Reed Baird viaPush Square), “For the next 10 years, we plan to keep making this game the best experience ever."

While we don’t know when the next PlayStation console, presumably called the PS6, will be released, it should be within 10 years from now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the game get a native PS6 version at some point down the line, either, given how everyone expects backwards compatibility to be one of the mainstay key features of any new console.

Marvel Rivals has already implemented automatic voice chat monitoring, and will add custom text chat filters in Season 3.5.

For reference, some of Arc System Works' most recent games were supported for a long time. Dragon Ball FighterZ was released in 2018, but was supported until last year. Meanwhile, Arc’s most recent fighting game, Guilty Gear Strive, which was released in 2021, is still seeing support, and the studio has promised more are on the way in 2026.

Even with Marvel Tokon in development, Arc Systemhas already confirmed an update being prepared for Strive, which proves the studio can handle multiple releases at once.
