Apex Legendsis one of the most famous battle royal games around, and what makes the game unique is its diverse cast of characters. All characters have their history, but few have as grim backstories as the Interdimensional fighter, Wraith.

Wraith has been around since Apex’s launch in 2019, and although she has floated between the top and high tiers, her abilities are top-notch and still put her ahead of most characters. Whether you are a new player or a professional, this guide will offer insight into Wraith and cover the best strategies to become champions.
10Into the Void, Out of Danger
Wraith has the unique ability to alter conventional space that offers a surprising amount of utility on the battlefield. Her Tactical, Into The Void, allows her to enter void space after a brief delay, making her invulnerable to all damage for four seconds.
This ability is one of the most useful “get out jail-free cards” in the game since it allows you to move around and reposition yourself to either reload or heal. The delay at the beginning makes you vulnerable to enemy damage since you can’t fire your gun and suffer a movement penalty. Make sure you make this ability count when you activate it.

9Relay what the Voices Tell You
While hearing voices can be concerning, for Wraith, the voices she hears are meant to protect her. Her Passive ability, Voices From The Void, informs you when an enemy has you in their sights and preparing to attack. While this ability is practically useless once in the middle of a fight, it’s helpful when exploring the map.
The voices can also inform you about traps nearby, like Caustic’s Nox Traps, and if you’re nearing several enemies soon. These can all be useful to help prevent a potential ambush or an enemy squad camping.

8Think With Portals
Although Wraith players have been known to go AWOL and abandon their squad, her Ultimate is a great tool to quickly move her team around the map. Her Dimensional Rift opens a portal that links to another, allowing players to pass through the space between in an instant.
This ability allows players to choose where the portal starts and ends, giving them a modest 25% boost in speed. This is great for moving between two spots on the battlefield during a fight or giving slower teammates a chance to catch up to you. The portal lasts 60 seconds, unlikeAsh’s Ultimate, which lasts a measly 15 seconds.

You may be surprised that landing a shot on Wraith in battle is more challenging than it appears, and that’s no oversight. Her small stature allows her to weave in and out of combat easily, making it difficult to knock her down, mainly if she’s used her Tactical.
There was a time when she and other bite-sized characters, like Wattsonand Lifeline, possessed the Low Profile perk, but that has been removed, so her rein of staying small without penalty is part of what makes her such a threat. Stay frosty, and keep moving.

6Combine Void Powers
Characters who can move have a significant advantage over the competition. Even more so, if a charter can avoid damage altogether, that will make them all the more dangerous. Wraith excels in both aspects simultaneously if you combine her powers.

Using her Ultimate and Tactical simultaneously, Wraith will be both invulnerable to damage AND gain a speed boost, making for the best escape tool in the game. This is not something to be used haphazardly, as this will rob you of both abilities, leaving you with few options if you can’t escape.
5Versatility is The Key
Besides a character’s abilities in battle, the real determining factor in a fight is a character’s weapon loadout. Players equipped with a sniper rifle and P2020 will have a tough time against an opponent armed with a golden Flatline.
Wraith should be armed withweapons that give her versatilityon the battlefield. If you find a Carbine, pair it with Peacekeeper, giving her more options in a fight. Have a weapon that covers her at mid-range, like an assault rifle or Marksman weapon, and have an SMG or shotgun in the second slot.

4Take Point
Since Wraith is quick on her feet and has abilities that can shuttle her squad around the map, it makes sense that she should take point on her squad. Typically, Wraith shouldn’t travel too far from her squad, but far enough to where she can phase back to her team in case she’s ambushed.
If you’re playing with random players, chances are they will not necessarily follow you, and that’s fine too! Instead, you should inform your team if Voice From The Void triggers, as it will better prepare them for a fight.
3Outrun the Ring
The Ring is always on the move in a match, and getting caught inside is not the optimal play. However, Wraith’s abilities give her a slight advantage in case she and her teammates get caught in an unfortunate position.
Her Ultimate can act like a zip line and help shuttle players safely to the other side, saving dozens of points of HP. Be mindful that the portal doesn’t last as long out of the Ring. So when you use this ability, inform your team ASAP.
2Use Portals to Save Your Squad
While Portals are great for traveling quickly, the placement of these portals is vital to making them useful. One prime example of using them is when you respawn an ally killed in action. Simply placing a portal by the respawn beacon allows your teammate to teleport to safety after landing from the Drop-Ship.
It can also be used when a teammate is knocked down and nearing death. Start from a safe place, such as the rooftop of a building inside a bunker, and portal your way to them. Jump through the same portal and wait for them to arrive before you revive them.
1Work as a Team
Wraith is armed with several unique and versatile abilities, but she is just as susceptible to death as anyone else. Apex Legends is all about teamwork, and using your abilities to help your squad rather than yourself is how to make Wraith work.
Communicate with your squad when you plan to use your abilities, as it can influence their decision-making when approaching battle. Heal often, share your med-kits, and don’t hog all the light ammo.
